I have a new dell vostro with windows visto and internet explorer 7. I know that the problem isnt with my connection as my computer works fine and i have had the same probelm in with other connections. the issue is that with streaming video such as youtube, megavideo, or my buffer will only go so far and then stop. It will then wait for the playback to catch up and pause and then it will buffer (incredibly slowly) a little farther and then stop buffering all together

My video playback has gotten worse and worse. I have XP. There is a plug-in you can buy for Windows Media player that allows you to view videos

I have a windows vista computer. Just recently I've been wanting to watch some videos but they play for like five seconds or so, and then it stops. And for those five seconds that the video is playing, there's no sound. I know my speakers work because I tested them by using a sound test on my computer, but now I want to know, what's going on???

You have to get proper drivers or your setting buffer for video is not set properly.

I forgot my windows login password for a dell studio 1737 laptop

What OS are you having?

On XP you can try this:
Boot computer and press Ctrl+Alt+Delete twice when you See Windows welcome screen / login screen. It'll show classic login box. Now type "Administrator" (without quotes) in username field and leave password field blank, press Enter and you should be able to login Windows.
Now you can reset windows password from "Control Panel -> User Accounts".

On Win 7 or Vista:
Ctrl+Alt+Delete won't work, you have to use some windows password recovery software. I recommend Windows Password Recovery Tool 3.0 .

I have a optima projector. When I hook it up to the laptop with windows Vista the image is upside down. When I use the laptop with windows xp everything works fine, The setting on the projector is set...

Hmmmm... You sure should have an option in your Control Panel for that settings. Try exploring your "Screen Resolution" by right clinking on the Desktop, and clicking "Screen Resolution". There'll be options for "Detect" and "Identify". When you connect your Projector, try the "Detect" option and see if a new Display is detected. If there is, click on it and look for "Advanced Settings" and try to find the option for "Invert" or "Mirror" display or something like that.
Or the easier option is to mount your Optima upside down but of course you won't do that as it may be very absurd and funny. (Kidding...

Hi toiyoshi7,
I see that most of your dvd's won't work on your Lenovo Y510, Please see steps below.
  • First I want to ask have you tried your Dvd's on another system if it works or not?
  • If the dvd's play on another system then you can try to check the settings of your Optical Drive.
  • Click start then My Computer if you have XP or Computer if you have Vista or Win7.
  • In My Computer or Computer right click on your Dvd drive.
  • Then select Properties you should get a window Dvd RW properties or which ever name appears depending on the windows you have then select the TAB that says Hardware.
  • In the window you will see All Disc drives: in the list select your DVD drive then click Properties below right side.
  • This will bring up the DVD drive properties window then click on DVD Region.
  • In the DVD region will be a bow below select United States then click OK until all the windows you opened are close and for some you may need to close them.
  • After changing the Region setting on your DVD, Restart your computer to make changes take effect.
  • After restarting the Laptop try your DVD's again
If this does not work then deleting Upper and lower Filters can be done but since you mentioned that some dvd's work, I cam suggest maybe updating your system codecs try downloading K-lite codec pack, or maybe try using a different Player like VLC player if you are using Windows Media Player.
I hope that this maybe of help regarding your concern.
Have a nice day,

Hi,I have 2 Dell laptops and I would like to play a movie on one and watch it on both,Can I do this ?

Since Laptops are not simply monitors you wont be able to do this simply or cost effectively. However you could upload it to both and hit play at the same time. Or depending on the models and if one has inputs for video capture then you would be able to do it. Most video capture modules and laptops start at about 1200 bucks so unless you have the higher end laptop you wont be able to do it. Even if you did the audio would be delayed.

Sims 2 won't work on vista laptop

Your Graphics Card (other names: video card, video/graphics adapter, GPU) is basically the video processing circuits used to process the games video output. These "cards" come in all shapes and sizes, and the one in your laptop may not be supported by this game. With laptops, there almost defiently not replacable.
You can confirm what type of video card you have in vista by following these steps: 1. Click the start menu, locate "Computer" right click it to bring up the right-click menu, then click "Properties" 2. On the left of the System Window, click "Device Manager" 3. Expand the "Display Adapter" branch and it will display the name/type of card you have. 4. Go to and confirm whether or not your card is supported
Unfortuently computers havn't reached the point of universality... But we love the dynamics of them :D

Dell l400 problem

1.If you purchase an external USB CD drive you will not need to use your floppy discs for booting. 2. You can connect a USB CD drive to your system. 3. Your system will recognize any device plugged into your USB drive. 4. There is no CD drive available for internal installation in your computer. 5. With the USB CD drive plugged in and the windows installation disc inserted, your computer should take you through the setup program automatically.
