Question about Philips GOGEAR SA6045 MP3 Player

Phillips go gear SA3245 reboots win 2k computer

After about 30 seconds of the SA3245 being connected to my win2k Computer, the computer reboots. It keeps rebooting for as long as the SA3245 is connected. Any idea why it keeps doing this? it is direct connected using the sync cable in the package. I hooked it up to my linux desktop, and it boots fine, and will even display the files on it. However whenever I connect it to my win2k computer, it reboots. So I got a great product that I can't even use. Help Please!!!

It's funny that you say that, since the package on it states required: windows 2000, xp, or vista. I may be wrong, but if the packaging is wrong, I'll just return it.

You must have Windows XP SP2 or higher for it to work properly - there are no drivers, nor was it designed for earlier versions of windows

I have a phillips go gear MP3 player and when i turn it on it freezes only the words www.phillips/welcome.com screens shows. how to i fix this?

Hello

Your GoGear is freezing because there is an error in the operating system and can be fixed by resetting the device. Resetting the GoGear is similar to rebooting your computer. You will not lose any of the data uploaded to the device. To reset the GoGear, press the "Reset" button located on the left of the device. The screen will go blank for a few seconds and then turn back on.

If the GoGear freezes after uploading a file to the device or if one song or sound file freezes the device each time you play it, the file is likely corrupt and needs to be removed from the GoGear. Connect the GoGear to a computer and delete the file from the device.

My philips go gear comes on when i cut it on and it just stays on the welcome screen

Go to My Computer and you will see the Philips Removable Drive listed.

Double-click on it and go to the Music Folder and add your mp3's in there.

Videos will have to be converted beforehand using the Philips software located at

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA3245/37&slg=en&scy=US

They are SMV files

Hello,

When your GoGear is stuck on the Philips logo, a repair can be made using the Philips Device Manager.

When not having installed this "toolbox" on your computer yet, go to the support site for this player:
http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=SA3245/37&slg=en&scy=US
Download the Device/Firmware manager and run the toolbox.

Phillips Gogear SA5285/37 is frozen

Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear:

Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.
