This iron is glued together and sealed with a special glue in all parts. Coils are in tubes in base and are also glued in place-not like any iron in the USA. Must go to authorized repair or factory. Cost is about same as buying a new one. Sorry bout that. Owner went and bought a new one. Try getting a manual-hah good luck! It is well built and tought if ya don't have the grandkids knock it over.

If you dropped it it will probably be an easy fix. Just openup the unit and look for a crack in the cicuit board. This is the case 99 percent of the time in apliance drops. If you find a crack in a board simply epoxy it and on the cicuit side of the board solder jumper wires from point a to point b when you follow the boken trace(s). If more than one trace is broken repeat the process until all the circuits can be repaired. Make sure you use wire of a high enough rating to handle the current the trace handles, and also use wire with heat resistant insulation in this application.
First things first though. Just open it up and have a look. The plug to the heating element may have just been knocked off. With a little trouble shooting skills and a good look you should be able to see your problem. If you get it open and see something I did not tell you how to fix just post any question you have and I will answer them for you.

More than likely your steam valve is broken or stuck. I had one of these and they are worth having repaired. Google Rowenta Repair Center.

Lights come on but it don't heat up..

Sounds like a defective thermofuse. Rowenta doesn't encourage anyone to repair their product except their authorized service centers. Parts are not made available. Go to rowenta.com to find the nearest service center and call them.

Iron No Longer Heats Up

Recommended solution, gently shake, did not work.

Considering the iron was at a minimum two years old, I decided to purchase another Rowenta. I found the recommended solution documented on a FAQ sheet enclosed with the new iron.

I actually own another Rowenta iron (I now have three) that has the same issue. I will send one iron, the one manufactured in Germany, to a Rowenta Service Center to see if can be repaired - it was the first Rowenta iron I purchased and it provided several good years of service.

Rowenta DZ9080 Iron with Auto... Problem

Hello, All High grade silicones are inherently heat resistant. Look for the best silicone you can find in a tube. The higher the cost of the silicone the higher the quality. You might even try automotive gasket sealer if you want to be absolutely sure of heat resistance. This will be off an orange or blue color though.
