Says E on LCD with a flashing 2 and alarm light Canon Pixma MP150 Error Code 5100

If the alarm light is solid amber E2 indicates a paper feed error.
This can usually be cleared easily.
If the Power light and Alarm light are flashing green and amber then the E2 indicates an error requiring Canon servicing might have incurred.. If after disconnection it reappears then it looks like a bin job as nobody on the internet appears to have any solution for this one and anything involving Canon would be as much as a new printer.

Turn off printer.
Remove both the cartridges from the printer. Use a clothe moistened with alcohol to clean the surface contact on the cartridges where the terminals inside the printers touches.
Return the cartridges and turn on the printer.

Error 5100 means that the cartridge can not be detected by the printer.

I AM VIEW THE PRINTER SERVIOCE VEDIO

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal..

wheres the answer? I am having the same problem right now, just bought 2 new ink cartridges and its not that,,,,

Try this... it worked on my MP450... Turn the printer on and open the lid, it shows the cartridges. Now let the cartridges settle to the left. You can notice that the cartridges run on a metal belt. It might be dirty, mine showed a black stripe on it. Take a cloth, a cleenex will be fine and clean it up. Move the cartridges to the right (force them with your hand) and clean the part of the belt left behind them. Now turn it off, close it up and turn it back on. It should work

sounds like an engine failure..from that code..is this under warranty, by chance?

Canon printer pixma ip6220D is showing error code 5100 and alarm light flashing. Help me how to repair it?
