Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
Please someone help me. I purchased a citizen ct-s300 a week ago and everytime i turn it on i get nothing but question marks...thousands of them. In the manual it says I have a data error. I cannot find anything in the manual on how to fix this or anything on the web. I have replaced the cable twice and even downloaded a cool program that allows you to change all sorts of settings on my citizen. Nothing is working, no matter what I try...all I get is question marks. Please help.
Thanks
I am guessing it is a Windows Vista incompatability issue ( your operating system was not mentioned so I am only assuming). You can download the Vista Driver here and give it a whirl

sorry, i'm running on windows xp professional
Hi,
I had the same problem running XP. I was using a (straight through) serial cable. Problem is, even though the cable fits, the "pin to pin" wiring in the cable is incorrect for this application.
I was advised by Citizen technical support to purchase a NULL Modem Cable (turns out they're very difficult to come by locally, go figure).
Couldn't find one so I purchased a Serial Modem Cable, just to try. Guess what? No more question marks. But I can't print either. :-(
So, I believe the NULL Modem Cable will be the fix, even if I end up having to make one!!!!!!!
The user manual for this printer shows the schematic for the two cable options, so should not be difficult to make.
