Question about Sony VAIO VGN-A150 Notebook
I need to have access to my laptop's hard disk but I cannot find the way to open the bottom cover after I unescrewed 23 screws without success. Any hidden key that I should be aware of? I refused to take to the Sony Service Center as they suggested. Thanks, anybody!
Well, it's not good news. Official word from Sony:
Knowledge Article C309925...
Can the notebook hard drive be upgraded or replaced
Hard drive upgrades in the notebook computer are not supported.
* Some notebook computer have instructions for warranty replacement of the hard drive by an end user.
* Although third-party upgrades may be available for some models, they are not supported.
* If the hard drive needs service, repair should be done by an authorized Sony service center.
* External hard drives may be attached if the appropriate connections are available.
This basically means complete disassembly of the laptop is required to get at the hard drive. Not that it can't be done. Just that it'll be a major pain in the .... you know.
There is no hidden key!

Remove the key board, there are 2 more screws under it
