Have you check the fan blades?, is the fan loose at the motor shaft?, check inside the pipe of the blower housing for blockage. did you replace the thermal fuse alone or as a kit?, are ALL the seals in place including the blower seal?. after checking all that try to run dryer without the vent pipe attached and see if it hold.

did all of the above, hose is only 3 ft. long and clear. current draw is aprox. 22 amps when heater is on and 6.5 when off. operating t'stat cycling on at aprox. 115 degrees and off at aprox 155 degrees at lint trap. air flow appears to be good. I dont know what else to check.

Electric dryer keeps overheating and blowing thermal fuse

Yes, the most common cause of a dryer blowing thermal fuses is a clogged or restricted exhaust vent.

It is not drying very well even on the very dry setting, why?

This may sound silly, but have you cleaned the dryer vent pipe from the dryer to the outside of your house? If that vent pipe is plugged, or partially plugged, your dryer will not dry properly. When I have had this problem in the past, the first thing I do is take the dryer out of the house and blow it out with a leaf blower. I put the leaf blower nozzle in the vent trap area, pack a towel around the blower nozzle, turn it on high and watch the lint fly. This ensure the dryer is cleaned out of any excess lint. Next, I take my leaf blower into the house, put the nozzle in the vent pipe (packing a towel around it also) and turn it on high and blow all the lint out of vent. I would caution you to check your piping the make sure all the vent pipe sections are secure. (The first time I blew out my vent pipe I had lint all over my basement due to poor connections in the tin piping. I promptly took aluminized duct tape and covered all of the seams.) My dryer always drys so much better after doing this simple procedure.

Entire vent system cleaned (was really bad). Purchased thermal fuse and thermostat kit la-1053 . Motor spinning fine as well as the air wheel is tight. Removed tumbler unit, checked tension pulley, motor,...

Did you clean the exhaust from the wall behind your dryer to the outside. This is more important than the dryer exhaust system itself. If not get behind dryer and remove exhaust to the wall and using a leaf blower,(electric) put it inside house vent then push dryer back to hold in place go outside and watch to see what all blows out. Good luck.

My dryer will not start. i tried a new start switch, no change. the door switch is working. if the thermal fuse is shot will that stop the dryer from working or only stop the heater from working. the moter...

there is 2 thermal fuses on some models 1 for the heater and the other will keep the unit from coming on at all which is most likely your problem. Example on a series 90 kenmore there is a thermal fuse and high limit mounted right on the side of the heater element housing and another fuse and thermostat mounted on the blower housing. The fuse on the blower housing will kill dryer completely.

A load was running and then my dryer just turned

SOUNDS LIKE YOU BLEW A FUSE IN YOUR DRYER. THAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU HAVE A VENTALATION PROBLEM. THE FUSE SHOULD BE BEHIND THE BACK COVER-AT THE BOTTOM--TWO WIRES PLUG INTO IT AND IT IS PROBABLY WHITE.

I replaced the thermal fuse and it blew again shortly after.

The main cause for thermal fuses to blow is a restricted airway. You need to make sure that your path for airflow is clear:

Check your dryer hose: make sure it is clear of debris inside, make sure it is not kinked when the dryer is in place.

Check your dryer vent: some houses and apartments have a fairly long dryer venting system before it reaches outside.

Check your dryer: just after the lint trap and prior to the blower motor is a common place for a blockage. You may have to take the front of the dryer apart to get to it. I have seen all kinds of things get passed the lint filter.

Each of these things would cause even a new thermal fuse to blow quickly. A combination of them could easily do that. The thermal fuse is the dryer's safety cut off, preventing your dwelling from burning down from an out of control dryer. So it's all about airflow, airflow, airflow.

Dryer works but the fuses keep blowing

If you are talking about the thermal fuse, then you have a blockage in your airflow path. Clean your dryer venting for the house, clean the dryer hose from dryer to house venting, and then make sure you clean just after the lint trap in the dryer all the way to the blower motor. Lastly make sure you do not kink the dryer hose in putting the dryer back in it's place.

If you are talking about the home's fusebox, check the amp draw on the dryer if it is less than the fuse rating by 80% call an electrician.

Keeps blowing thermal cutt-off fuse

You need to remove the front dryer panel clean dryer completely of lint . Even where the lint filter is . Also make sure the vent hose is not kinked or filled with water and lint . I changed a thermal cutt-off 3 times in a dryer within about 2 weeks time . On the last time , removed the front panel and filter housing , and a big ball of lint fell out . Cleaned vent housing and inside of dryer and no more problems since .

Blown thermal fuses

I would think not. The MAIN cause of that fuse blowing is lint build up. Turn the dryer on and put your hand on the outside of the vent duct. Is the air blowing hard? If so, you will probaly be ok, if not maybe your blower wheel needs to be replaced...

Thermal Fuse

First of all stop replacing the fuses and using the dryer it could burn down your house. The problem is the vent is clogged (not necessarily in the dryer) make sure also that the vent flex is not excessively long behind the dryer and is not kinked when the dryer is pushed back.
