Does anyone know how to fix a comercial program server crash or what needs to be done to fix it??

Something like this warrants a service tech or a specialist to fix this matter or someone that can actually see what is going on and not guess out of here. They would need to analyze the situation and see what needs to be done to service and repair the problem. That is the way I would go with this situation. Especially a server crash just a suggestion. My dell e510 started burning when i connected it to a power supply

Hi,
Did it start 'burning' as soon as you connected? Was it loud with sparks? Were you using a power surge protector?
I'd say its a problem of the power supply.
If the machine came with a warrant, and is still on warrant, take it back to have its power supply replaced. If not, have it replaced/repaired at a repair shop.

Hope this helps.Thanks!

I think you really need to boot from a boot disk (windows xp - vista - 7) for your operating system - and attempt a repair from there. Your computers have different motherboards and parts.. windows installed drivers for them are not close enough.

I have had success in xp by doing this: before removing drive from old computer - you go into device manager and remove everything - drives, video card, mother board last and leave keyboard and mouse .. so you can shut it down .. then install into new machine and it finds most everything and then you install your drivers there.

Good luck,
Bill

Scanned 18 outdated drivers. I have never been happy with this system, bought the extended warrant also. Still covered. I don't think I should have to pay for new drivers. Not when system is still so new.

usually this is a driver update service ythat "finds outdated drivers" and asks you to pay to fix it. you are paying for the service not the drivers.

If you have windows service pack two or better installed just click windows key pause buttons at the same time then go to hardware then device manager.

im there just right click the device and hit update driver. This will update most devices to the newest drivers.

Although the only time yo really need to update drivers is when stuff isnt fucntioning properly. Ive found updating sometimes causes undo problems.

No sound on Emachine 220 - Realtek AC'97 audio deivice not installed...

Hi again,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

I am tempted to agree with you that there is something physically wrong with the sound device in the PC (hardware, not really that uncommon and it do happen).

To answer your query "...is there an actual SOUND CARD...", would depend on the actual model number which unfortunately was not established since we failed to get if the PC is an E series, F or something else. Alternately however, we can determine if the sound card is an add-on or on-board by the mere location of the jacks; if the jacks are along the same place/area of the keyboard, mouse, rear USB port, LPT printer port and others, then it is built-in/on-board and could not be replaced. If however, the sound/speaker jack/connector is away from the bunch of connectors all alone by itself on a strip, then that would be an add-on and could be replaced.

Alternately however, even if it were on-board/built-in to the motherboard, we can disable it in the BIOS and therefore the system would not recognize it anymore (faulty or not). If this could be done (disabling), then and only then can we install an add-on PCI sound card. There are even USB versions. This would appear to be the easiest route to take and would not warrant that much technical work. At most that would be needed is to open the casing, remove one of the spare narrow strip/panel at rear and insert the newly purchased PCI sound card. The drivers normally would come with the card in a mini CD disc. Again, the original built-in sound card must be disabled in the CMOS/BIOS to prevent conflict and dual existence (that would make configuration a bit more troublesome).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back if you were able to verify that the original sound device is enabled in the CMOS/BIOS, how you would want to proceed and/or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I think HP should do the repair for free. Since you've had the problem previously, it is not like you want a repair for the first time. Let them know what happened.
