Says line in use

I attempted to answer a call on Sun,it would not let me pick up.Now the handset to the base says "line in use".I have unplugged the base and the other phone. I have disconnected and reconnnected the battery and now the additional handset won't even work.

Wizunplug everythingthen plug it allback in then press the mute button on the phone (program) then go to hand set setup... then go down to de authorize and remove the link..... then reauthorize it
