It has blue spots (pixels) around the edges. There is a egg shaped center that does not have it, all other places do. It stays on the entire time, even after turning off the TV, until the lamp goes off....

Hello
This is really a problem to some Mitsubishi projection TVs.

This LCD Projection Television uses three LCD panels to create the screen image. This technology creates the image using small dots, or picture

elements (pixels). Your LCD Projection TV is manufactured to a high level of performance and quality, in fact, 99.99% perfect in the number of

properly functioning pixels. As in other display technology, sometimes a pixel is continuously active, inactive or the incorrect color. Our standard is
clear; MDEA warrants only that the percentage of properly functioning pixels will be not less than 99.99% of all pixels.
This is the company says about this problem. Your set need service care fro authorised service center.

BEFORE REQUESTING SERVICE, please review the instruction booklet to insure proper installation and correct customer control
adjustment. If the problem persists please arrange for warranty service

I have 3 thin lines red, green, blue at the top of the screen, from side to side and slightly arched. I tried the convergence, but it didn't help. Is this a costly repair or can it be done myself?

It is alignment problem & needs lot of patience, expertise to align LCD panels. To align slightly loosen the screws on red & blue panels. Switch on the TV with input source as computer as it has steady graphics. Align for red & blue by slightest movement using light taps with screwdriver sideways. When you are satisfied, tighten the screws. If it is one pixel height line, just neglect it. That much error can be expected.
WARNING: If you are not sure, do not carry out the alignment. Otherwise it will go more out of alignment.

Blue tints w/ tini blue dots

if you see blue pixel type groups of squares or dots you may have a burnt light engine and this is common in many LCD rear projection sets; a blue screen may mean the engine became burnt--LCD rear projection sets of this kind have an optical enginge--with red, green, blue prizims--sometimes they get burned by the lamp---a photo would tell me or most techs what the problem is---the cost of a replacement engine is very expensive--some models with this problem are covered by Sony even if the set is no longer in warrant

Sounds like stuck pixels, you really can't fix that. Do some google research if you are curious what a stuck pixel is.
