There is a small battery inside the carriage, replacing this will give the game the ability to keep saved data once again. *Note* I do not suggest doing this unless your experienced doing such thing. you can damage the board of the game if on careful.

My son bought a pre-owned Pokemon Black Version game for Nintendo DS Lite and he cannot save the game as there is already an saved game and profile. Is there anyway to delete the existing game/profile?

Hi Jeaston151,
To delete a Pokemon Black save file, press the following buttons at the start screen: up, select and B.
Your son will now be able to start his own file!
Have fun, and go catch 'em all!

Hi, I have pokemon gold on my gameboy and when I last saved and now I want to start again and I can not say more than that the save file is corrupted. How can I fix this problem? Thanks in advance

Sorry, there isn't a way to bring back a corrupted Gameboy game save. The reason the save has corrupted is because the small battery in the game had died. Replacing the battery might fix your game, but it won't bring back your save.

When i save on Pokemon gold, silver, and crystal (for GBA) then turn if off then back on to load my game it says "the saved file is corrupted" of there is no "continue" button to push....

Well its because the battery inside of the gamepack is dead now. The battery inside of the gamepack allows you to save the game data is dead now so buy a new one then.

    It does't save

I had this problem before. What you need to do is take the cartridge and unscrew it and change the battery. Here is a guide to replace it: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/ If you aren't good with soldering, I would recommend just buy a new Pokemon Gold game.

The game works fine but when i save it and turn it off and then back on, it deletes the save file. how can i fix this? thank you, Lucas

No, the only way to stop this problem is to change the battery because it is dying or dead; this is causing the memory erases. Gold won't save

The Silver/Gold/Crystal generation Pokemon Games all had cartridges that contained a built-in battery that runs theinternal clock, so that your game knows whether its day or night,Monday or Wednesday, etc. Anyway, I assume your battery has run out,and until replaced, the game will not save successfully.

This site give instructions on how to replace the battery: http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/

Or you could just buy the game again, I would guess they are about $10 these days.
    Great game by the way.

    Hope that helps.

    Saved game gets deleted

Most of the save game issues have to do with the onboard battery dieing. If this happens, your save game will persist for a few hours and then vanish.

This a problim that cannot be solved as the cartradges may be fake or the memory has been damadged inside the cartradge.
