Mine would brew the first cup fine, then the pump would run but would not draw water from the reservoir. I turn it off, turn it back on it would draw water for one cup then would not draw water again. I unplugged it waited 30 seconds and plugged it back in, assuming that would reset the electronics. It worked fine following the PDPU (power down, power up) procedure. Simply turning it off will NOT reset the processor, you MUST unplug the unit. Remember to wait 30 seconds or so prior to plugging the unit back in.
the unit works on a double suction set up, the heater draws water when needed, then the internal tank will draw water from the outside tank when needed. If all systems are not calling for water at the same time it will not work, you cant trick it. If your worried about freezing, run some non-toxic R>V> anti freeze thru it. It will also keep it from molding if freezing is not the issue.
The problem might be common however, Keurig does not have any repair centers around the country, nor do they have schematic drawing available :(. In order to get your problem taken care of you have to call Keurig directly 1.866.901.BREW
No mine is doing the same thing. Keurig said they redesigned water pump recently. It acts like it is vapor locking at times so it does not draw in water. I am returning this model.
I just got mine to work by forcing water into the pump to force it to prime. I took a syringe for a meat injector and built a gasket so it would seal over the water intake. Then I forced several syringes of water into the pump till it finally picked up and caught its prime.
This morning my Keurig sounds like it begins to pull water then stops. I tried to cut it off then back on. Still didn't work.Removed water from reservoir and K-cup and added pure vinegar. Ran machine several times without filter or Kcup by pressing cup selector several times. You must open K-cup holder and close each time. I had to do this about a dozen times before the water began to draw again. Flushed system by filling water reservoir with fresh water, and brewed just plain water until vinegar was gone.Works like brand new.
