Question about Kenwood Car Audio & Video

I have a kenwood excelon kdc-x790. i had it installed yesterday and when wired up it did nothing. But when I had another kenwood a cheaper version installed it worked fine. The kdc-x790 that I got was bought from a friend and it didn't have the small plug that plugs into the back of the radio and im thinking that the harness that was used on my x790 was the wrong on. please help

If the screen did not even light up, then you definately have a power issue. Verify that your fuse did not blow, and then that you connected the correct wires. The power wires are usually orange and red. Red being the "always on" and orange being the "switched source".

I have a kenwood excelon kdc-x869.the gears striped on the faceplate when my knee hit the faceplate.installed new gears but cant get switch in right position to operate right.


The gear which moves the lever that opens and closes the face position sensor switch needs to be installed correctly. The best way is to have face horizontal and try to position the gear so the lever closes the switch.

next thing you would want to do is check the stereos fuse then check your wiring yellow red and black.
