The easiest solution could be to just do a hard boot on the system and clear all of your data. This is assuming a program you installed is causing the problem. If you have not installed any aftermarket programs, you will have to contact palm because you probably have bad software in that case.
This is most likely an issue with the firmware, and with it going no further than time and date, you won't be able to update or reinstall it. You will need to take it to your service provider to get this fixed.
(Ginko, I see you also posted this here - before me.. not sure if the customer sees it.)There is also a Daylight Saving Time Update for Palm OS Devices.

What you have done is put a BIOS password on your system, all you have to do is enter the password you typed after you hit F10 the first time when the system boots up. if the password does not work try hitting the caps lock key and entering the password again.
Exactly whst is howing, just an empty windows screen? Reboot your pc and as soon as you see something on the screen start hitting the F8 key. This will take you to a boot option list. Select last known good configuration. See what happens. If that doesn't work. reboot again and hit the F8 key again, this time choosing safe mode. If it boots into safe mode do a system restore. Go to start>accessories>system tools>system restore. Look at the dates and see if something was installed on a date a day or two ago. Pick a date before that. If nothing was, pick a date about two days ago when everything was running fine. The system will then reboot itself and tell you if it was successful. If it is running ok do a complete virus scan and anti-spyware check. If you need these programs I can tell you where to get good ones for free. If this solves your problem please rate this as fixed. If not, don't rate yet. Just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further. If you need those programs just add a comment also. Thanks.

Ok I've just found out how to get the interlaced/progressive problem sorted out. It is as follows and PLEASE REMEMBER you will be doing this "Blind" sice the screen is black:
1. Power on the DVD unit.
2..Press the "SET UP" button on the remote, ONCE (DVD Display should show "Setup" )
3. Using the arrow buttons on the remote, push the RIGHT arrow ">" ONCE
4..Press the "DOWN" Arrow on the remote ONCE
5. Press the "ENTER" button on the remote ONCE
6. Press the "DOWN" Arrow on the remote ONCE
7. Press the "ENTER" Button on the remote ONCE
At this point you should have your picture and menu displayed on the screen, simply hit setup again to exit, and get the hell out of there!
If you want a copy of what you should be looking for, e mailed, I can do that.
Finally, to do a system restore, which will achive the same results (but you'll have to reset date, time etc.), follow steps 1 & 2 Then instead of hitting the DOWN arrow once, press it THREE times and hit "ENTER" this will restore the unit to factory settings. I have never done this so I am only guesing what other settings you will have to adjust, as well as time and date.
I also have the details on how to make the unit region free, email me and I'll send them to you.
Good Luck!
