Battery will not charge

The battery will not charge. Sometimes it will sometimes it will not. If it does charge it will quickly dissapate, then the laptop will power power off when the battery completely dies. I purchased a new charger and battery...still same issue.

Update: It worked fine for a while but now it's up to the same ole problem again. I guess I will have to replace the motherboard :-(

Ok this time I almost wasted hundres of dollars for nothing.......

I searched for and downloaded my laptop's disassembly instructions

Stripped it down to the motherboard

Followed the wires where the adapter plugs in all the way to the motherboard

The piece connecting the wires to the motherboard was loose

    Went to Radio Shack

Explained to the salesperson what I wanted to repair

Purchased the cheapest soldering iron, flux, and solder they sold ($20 total)

Carefuly, soldered the loose piece on the motherboard

    Reassembled everything in reverse order

Worked like a champ (Well I have to admit I forgot to install the keyboard ribbon so I had to take the keyboard off again and install the ribbon)

Bottom line: I did not have to pay someone to do this simple task nor did I have to purchase a new $400 motherboard. Kiss my **** Toshiba and all the other clowns who tried to rip me off!!!!

I completely disassemble my laptop down to only the motherboard. I put everything back together and for the past few week all seems fine.

Since the battery and charger aren't the issue, the only thing left is the power management system on the motherboard. The power management system controls the charging, among other power related things. If the machine is still under warranty you need to contact Toshiba to get this fixed, otherwise you will have to either live with power supply only or replace the motherboard.

1996 nissan pickup battery wont stay charged and alternator and battery are new. what could the problem be?

The battery is really just for providing power when the vehicle isn't running, and providing power needed for the starter to start the engine. The rest of the time the alternator is charging the battery and providing the power for the vehicle. You may have a short somewhere that is draining the battery when the vehicle is sitting and not running. If the vehicle does not run long after charging the battery, then there's a problem with the alternator. You can actually run the car without the battery, provided the engine is running and the alternator is working properly.

My aspire starts blinking when i charge it

What's blinking the battery charge light? If so that is not a problem unless the battery is not charging. The battery only has a useful life, then it has to be replaced when it refuses to charge. If you AC Adapter is ok and allows you to get on the laptop and work, then your battery needs to be replaced.

You can look at the power options in the control panel to see if the battery is holding a charge. Or you can remove the power cord and work off the battery and if it goes dead real quick, that's another indication that it needs to be replaced.

When i put my minitor v pager on the charger, the red light flashes a few times, Then goes to solid green as if fully charged, but its not. So i left it on the charger anyway and removed it a few hours...

your battery is most likely a nikle cadmium (sometimes called "NiCad") these batteries develop a memory that sometimes makes them only stay charged for as long as they have been used. Some of the newer chargers discharge the battery fully before restarting the charge which usually brings them back to full charge (normal length of time). Also you battery may just be worn out, they can only be charged a finite number of times. I would first discharge the battery till it is absolutely dead and try the charge routine again. if it doesn't work buy a new battery. P.S. There are ways to erase the memory of a battery, but it is considered dangerous for those inexperienced with the technique, so I won't explain it here.

New phone that won't take charge

Check the adaptor , if Ok plug into phone and check the voltage on the battery terminals, if OK then the battery is faulty, This is due to the battery having developed reverse polarity. A quick charge with an external voltage can sometimes get it jump charged. If not replace or claim warranty if the phone is new.
If adaptor is not having the voltage it can be faulty.

Is the 10 amp se-40ma battery charger to big for my motorcycle battery can it over heat or over charge it

A battery that might sit for a month at a time, would only need a trickle charge or about 1 amp, a charger of this type can stay hooked to the battery for the whole month. A 10 amp would be for a quick charge or only about 4 - 12 hours depends on how fast the battery lost the charge. A 10 amp charge would cook the battery if left for days.

I have an acer 5735, the battery won't charge, sometimes it states plugged in charging, sometimes plugged in not charging, and sometimes fully charged, but in all cases it is not charged at all?

you can try this things

1st option
Remove your battery and check the pins if are bended or missing

2nd option

1- remove your battery
2- directly connect AC adapter
3- restart or on your laptop
4- after loading windows, put the battery

3rd option
Take battery out and use pencil erases to gently clean the contacts. Also clean contacts on laptop battery box.
Sometimes the contacts oxidize.
Then put back in and see if it charges.

if nothing of this worked, you will need a new battery

My ds just crashes--shuts down--when playing. Is

The same thing happened to my DS that was 3 years old. But at a point it didn't even turn on. The top screen made a quick blink then it turned back off automatically. I suggest you just get a new DS (I got a DSi) because a new battery is VERY expensive.

Answer:It is definitely the battery, though.

IBM T22 Battery won't charge & is not detected

Take it to a very good technician who will open it up and check a dry joint in the charging system.  Sometimes if you donot attend to it quickly you may find your T22 refusing to power at all with the AC Adaptor.  Delicate soldering may solve your problem.  Power may not be getting to the charging circuit and the battery thus it is totaly discharged.
