Question about Frigidaire FRS26R4A Side by Side Refrigerator
My refrigerator froze up the other night, so I thawed it out and have been running it for a day and a half now. The evaporator coil is staying white and seems to be slowly building ice, but is holding temp. I was wondering where to start with the defrost system and how to accsess it. Please help..
The defrost systems is:
Start with the timer. It is just under the front kick plate. there is a knob you can turn it slowly.until it clicks off the compressor. then open the freezer and listen . You should hear the heater come on .. it will sizzle when it comes on ...
You will have to remove the back panel of the freezer to check the heater for and thermostat for continuity. Heater are the lease likely part to go bad... I always change thermostat and timers together.
let me know if this helps or we can chat if you need more help.

it is on the top of the inside of the refrigerator and if it is not you may have to take off the knob for the thermostat and turn the red knob that is sitting in the hole.
