This problem may happen if you are using an unsupported photo paper type. Remember this is an inkjet printer. To resolve this issue, get some ULTRA Premium Photo Paper, Premium Photo Paper and you will have it resolved. Probably, you are using photo paper for a printer dock or photo printer.

Hi,

On most inkjet printers there is a small squeejee which wipes of excess ink from the printer head, this is usually done where the printer head parks itself while it is standing by.

I am 99% the below steps are safe as I have done it to my printer dozens of times.

while the printer is off, pull the head across so that you can see the condition of the parking position. look with a torch to see if there is ink splattered everywhere.

if there is ink everywhere use pure alchol with long cotton buds and clean

let me know how is goes

When turn camera on screen is black when i take a pic the pic comes out black also

A stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

New pictures I am taking with my camera are showing up completely black. I can view previously saved pics on the SD card on the screen, but any new pics only come up black. Any ideas what this could be?

Big Black Ink Line in all copies

Lift up a lid and clean the tiny scanner glass. One black dot will cause that effect to happen when using the document feeder. If the glass is clean, open the door on the right side and look at the green drum for lines. If you see any lines on the drum, then it's time for it to be replaced.

The set has sound and no picture. If you the SSB could be the issue but the tiny red dots on a black screen will need the panle replaced also. There is a way troble shooting can be done to determine if you will need the SSB or the SSB and the panel.

I admit it, I used cheapo refill ink! Now the black section of the print head doesn't work...

I'm afraid there is no real sucessful way of cleaning these print heads, tiny micro filters built into the head unit will blocked. I have never unblocked one fully.

Fix is to replace head

These heads are not easy to fit, then once they are you must program in the head id and run a purge with four gen inks, this purge uses like 1/4 of each ink.

Recommennd you replace printer it is cheaper to

I dont have the 420 cn listed but here is link to mfc425cn head info so you can see how much they are not worth buying
