Targa 32" LCT TV, No picture/ sound only can hear clicking sound from Kisan KP-301R Power supply board. Have checked output voltages and they are a little out i.e. 16v instead of 17.5v and 10.5v instead of 12v.
Has SAMWHA capacitors but cannot see any bulging or leakage anywhere like other users have suffered so dont know if changing all the caps will solve the issue.
Before it finally went dead LCD TV would switch itself off after some time and just a few days before it dies it started the clicking sound but would then start up okay.
This problems,i fix alot models of tvs all diffrent models of tvs but have the same board alway dies. The LCD inverter board is dead. This board help the LCD to have a backlight to go through the Turner board to produce a picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement. The board is long in shape. It the easiest board to replaced in LCD tvs.
If backlight went out then sound should still work. Are there any indicator lights to show power is coming on anymore? Try unplugging for 30 seconds, hit power button a few times, then plug back in and try to turn on. This drains any capacitors of power to attempt to reset (basically clearing the TV's throat).
Can also try something on a different input. If current input is composite, S-video, or component, try using DVI or HDMI connection as this uses a different board in the TV. If that fixes it, then at least you can try to replace one board instead of entire tv. :)
Most failures on this TV are due to defective power supplies. If the TV does not turn ON, you should replace the power supply. Check this website to buy the power supply adapter and hopefully that should fix the TV.
