My dryer 66912691 will not start

start by checking the main power line to the program controller unit. Check the voltage output on the controller when the start is initiated. If absent check the door switch. If present then you can isolate the motor /motor drive and confirm the working of the motor with a bench test. If there is a capacitor start, check the value with a mains test or use one in parallel. Check the relay to the motor. Also this will confirm why the dryer does not work.

Dryer has been working fine but now will not turn on or start at all. Has not shown any sign of trouble prior to this.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
Due to the differences in makes and models I need your Model number to answer professionally. Door switches and broken belts are usually the cause of this. Listen for a micro-switch click as you just close or just open the door. No click = bad switch.
Reach inside the dryer, grab a baffle and try and rotate the drum GENTLY. If it has very little resistance the belt is probably broken.
Respond with a make and model number and I will provide you with troubleshooting steps and parts sources.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

How do i troubleshoot my kenmore model 110 electric dryer. it does not heat while it tumbles. How do I know for sure that it is the heating element.

ok first unplug dryer on the side of the heating element housing you will see the high limit switch black plastic with a sticker and a metal nose pull the 2 wires off check for continuity with ohm meter should be closed if it reads closed put wires back. Now look for a white ceramic rectangle piece it is a thermal fuse pull the wires and chech continuity if it shows closed it also is good. if either of these show open they need replaced. Now if both showed closed unplug wires from heating element check continuity should read continuity. if open element is broken. Now assuming this all shows good. Then it could be the timer or the centrifical switch on end of motor.

Kenmore dryer model number 110.66912691 not heating.

Check the house electrical panel for tripped dryer-circuit breaker-pair. Push off, then on. If immediately re-trips, the dryer has a dead short circuit in it. If they hold, then retry the dryer. If it now works, ok! If not, recheck the breakers as above. If tripped again, there is a likely short in the dryer's heater assembly. The drum must be removed to access the heater.
