When i turn on my psp the green light will come on but the screen won't come on and then a few seconds later the green light will shut off completely.

Hi tokyo_grl,
First you have to figure out what is causing the problem. Try the following steps.

1. Remove anything that is connected to the PSP, including the
Memory Stick, battery and any UMD games.
2. Plug the charger into both the wall and the PSP system, then wait for at least 30 seconds before turning the psp on.
--If the PSP turns on, your problem is not with your PSP, but with an accessory that was previously attached. If it does not turn on, your PSP is in need of a repair.
3. Next, unplug the power adapter from the PSP, and firmly place the battery into the PSP.
4. Plug in the Power Adapter once again, and wait at least 30 minutes for the PSP to begin charging, then try and power on the PSP system.
--If the PSP does not power on with the battery plugged in, but it did with just the charger, you need a new battery. If it powers on, do the next step.
5. Place the Memory Stick inside the PSP , and turn on the power. If the PSP does not turn on, but it turned on without the memory, you need a new memory stick.

If your PSP did not turn on during step 2, your PSP is bricked and indeed needs to be repaired by a qualified technician. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck.

The power light is on, the PSP is fully charged, but the screen is blank and there is no sound.

Sign of badupdate or flash ...and can be bad mother board.

You or a repair tech reflash update or replace motherbaord

Nothing comes up on screen even after switching it on

you may have the power-save option on in the psp settings which automatically turns off the light after a certain aount of time to save battery life. just go to settings and find that setting and turn it off if you want that light o stay on

When i try to turn on my psp it doesnt work. the light comes for a few seconds a and turns back off. The screen doesnt work too. ITS all black. Last thing i remeber i downloaded something and tried to...

Try to performa a Hard Reset:

1- make sure the battery is fully charged.
2- Hold the power switch to on (up) for at least 10 seconds.

3. switch it back on. (sometimes you have to do it twice, but for now just try doing that one time).

If that doesn't work, try Holding the Power on for 20 to 30 seconds.

If that doesn't work remove the battery overnight.

or try another battery (it could be dead/defective/dead cells, etc.)

Psp

If the PSP works correctly when the power adapter is plugged in but not when just running on battery then yes, you need a new battery.

Also triple-check that your PSP's screen brightness is turned up all the way (hardware buttons along the bottom of the screen.)
