Green line down left side and geen snow

Hi My tv is about 18months old. A green vertical line is running down the left hand edge of the screen and when the cable is switched off the screen is a mass of green snow. Periodically when watching tv you can see the green snow as well but it doesnt happen all the time.

Please someone tell me it isn't dying already!

Hi Echo18 I have just solved my problem, well sort of. My neighbour has just gone away on vacation and as we were talking about where he was going he told me he was switching all his appliances off. 10 MINUTES AFTER HE LEFT MY PICTURE RETURNED TO ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! I now have to wait 17 days til he returns to speak to him about his wireless router as I am now sure this is what has been causing my fault. I will post again on his return to let you know exactly what item of his is causing my problem, although I am sure it is going to be his wireless router. I have had 3 months of this problem and just wish he had gone aay earlier. I hope this may shed some light on your problem.

    Hi guys

I also have the same problem I phoned Samsung today to explain the tv was only 14 months old, they didn't wanna no because it was out of warrenty by 2 months. I am getting a black solid line down the left hand side of the screen. I ended up phoning Dixons were we bought it from, they have told me to get an indedent engineers report done & send the report to them within 14 days. Dixon told me it was a known problem with Samsungs. They said they will fix it free of charge if they can if not they will send vouchers to the same value of the television. So beware stay clear of Samsungs.

Horizontal or vertical bars on the screen could be from an ac line interference, adjacent magnetic field, bad input wire connections.....especially HDMI connector cables. A bad HDMI cable causes all kinds of unwanted picture interference. Check the conditon of all connection wires for proper fit and function. Keep in mind the method in which you connect your tv will result how the tv performs. As well this line problem could be a circuit issue too, requiring a technician to look at it.

HI,

IF YOU HAVE A SOLID BLACK LINE RUNNING VERTICALLY THEN YOU HAVE A FAULTY MATRIX INVERTER. IF CENTRAL THE MAIN VERTICAL INVERTER NEEDS CHANGED. LEFT = LEFT VERTICAL INVERTER RIGHT=RIGHT.........

ANOTHER WAY TO GET THIS FAULT IS WORN OR DAMAGED RIBBON/PLASTIC GOING FROM THE SCREEN MATRIX TO THE INVERTER

GOOD LUCK IN RECTIFYING THE FAULT, THANKS

Red vertical line down right side of the screen

hi

I think your TV have a trouble inside lcd panel
the controller board contains driver IC. Deffective driver IC can cause of line display.

Three reasons why one vertical line accross screen can happen in LCD;

1.The missing signal from the controller IC to
LCD driver.
2. LCD driver IC itself defective
3. Dry contact in the tape carrier package.

Use masking or electrical tape to mark it where the line was located. press it if the line back to normal but when release your hand came back i think it was intermittent. Open the LCD panel

Green vertical line on videocon 42inch plasma tv

Hello Depending how wide the line is their could be two possible causes.
I have two questions for you.
1. How wide is the line.
2. Does it run from top of screen to bottom of screen?
If the line is thin a single strait line then it is possible the PDP has gone Bad (Panel). (Screen). The screen will to be replaced.
If the line is at least 2 or more inches wide then its a buffer board which can be replaced. LG calls this board Hand insert Boards or display driver boards..

One green vertical line in HDTV Vizio 42

Try changing the H/V position in the TV Set Up menu. You can adjust the horizontal and vertical position of the screen and move it enough that the green line disappears from the screen.
