SOURCE: We have purchased a Phillips

Yes

If the Freeview box is not connected to the main aerial socket, you cannot get a signal.

Also, you will need a digital aerial, if you don't already have one.

SOURCE: can't retune sharp aquos lcd tv

This is the best place that's near the manual you need.
They have the LC32D44E manuals, but not the "BK" at the end. I think the "BK" just means BLACK.
But, I think it will work for your TV.
Here's the link:
http://www.sharp.co.uk/page/downloaddrivermanuals#

Click on the "Sharp Europe - Manuals and Download "
Then, Operation Manuals
Then, LCD-TV
Then, put your TV model# for the search.

SOURCE: how do I turn on

Hi,

With the TV still in standby mode open the front panel tray by pushing on the triangle that is marked there. Then push the third or the fourth button. See diagram below (buttons framed in blue). The TV should come out of standby and operate.

These buttons are also used for going up or down the channels - press and the TV will cycle up or down each time. You can also use the second button marked F on the TV front panel to cycle sequentially through volume and other menus then adjust these up or down by using the buttons framed in blue.

See diagram below. Thanks for using FixYa and please remember to leave a vote for the solution.

I have a 22" digihome LCD TV with built in DVD. At 3am every morning the DVD activates and buzzes away. The screen doesn't come on but there is a loud click as the speakers activate. How can I stop this...

3am is the freeview box update time it will do this every day at 3am the loud click you hear you should not hear it but it may be the update switch that turns the tv out of standby for the freeview to be updated its a different switch that turn this on and may be sticking.

Hi Sarah,

Please check your :

- Power board . You may have defective part like IC and capacitor

I cant make the freeview box work without the operating instructions

OK - please follow these instructions carefully to setup the Freeview box. If you get stuck at any point in the instructions - or anything I've said doesn't make sense or match what you can see - just post another message here and I'll deal with each problem as it arises.

1. Switch the TV and Freeview box to STANDBY. There should be a red light on the Freeview box;
2. Connect the aerial cable to the freeview box. Make sure you are connecting this to the correct socket. This should be labelled "RF IN", "IN" or "Aerial/Antenna". If you have connected to a socket marked "RF/TV OUT" or "TO TV" or something similar, it wont work;
3. Connect the SCART cable to Freeview box and the back of the TV;
4. Switch the TV on;
5. Switch the Freeview box on - you should get a green light on the front of the box;

Most TVs will automatically switch to the external input when a SCART device is switched on while the TV is already on. This is why you should switch the TV on first.

At this point you should be able to see the installation / setup screen for the Freeview box displayed on your TV. If you cannot see this:

A. Press the INPUT button once on your SAMSUNG remote control once. This is the button in the top-right corner of your remote control.
B. If you still cannot see the installation / setup screen, press the MENU or SETUP button on the remote control supplied with the Freeview box.

The instructions from this point forward will be different if you had to press the MENU / SETUP button on the Freeview remote before anything appeared on the TV screen. If this Freeview box has been used before the installation screen will not appear, but you will get at on-screen menu after pressing the MENU / SETUP button. If this happens, please let me know and I will provide alternative instructions for setup.

Assuming you have been able to access the installation screen, it should be easy enough to follow the instructions on screen from this point. Use the UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT arrow keys on the Freeview remote to highlight the relevant options and then press OK / SELECT to choose that option.

I don't want to make this too complicated by providing alternative instructions for every possible scenario. Please run through the instructions above and make sure you are getting an installation screen or "menu/list" displayed on the TV. If you need further instructions from there, I will provide them in another message.

Good luck - I'll await your reply.

Regards,
BElectric

I have a freeview build into my tv which is Panasonic plasms tv Model no. TH-46PZ8BA and wish to know how I can receive HD channels BBC or ITV. Please advice and help.

HD Ready just means the tv can display HD images from an HD source.

The built-in Freeview box on your tv is not Freeview HD compatible so you'll either have to buy a separate external Freeview HD box or subscribe to an HD satellite or cable service.

In any case, most built in Freeview receivers are of barely adequate picture and reception quality. An external box is usually far better in both respects.

I have a Panasonic Quintrix which only seems to store some channels when you retune for new channels, eg BBC 1 has gone and been replaced with 4tv interactive. Any ideas how to get it back?

You may lose some channels when you retune the TV as the channels have been rearranged. To locate them look at the EPG although you may still find that some channels are no longer available on FREEVIEW. See the following link for additional information

http://www.freeview.co.uk/_retuneinfo/

If the above process does not work then check the link above for additional information and also visit the accompanying site links below to find more information for your model of TV / FREEVIEW box.
