Hi.
It depends on the model of washer.
If it has no removeable rear panel, then you have to remove the complete rear half of the cabinet to access the heater, not an easy job.
If it is an early model, then it will have a removeable rear cover, and the heater can be changed from the rear of the washer.

Dryer on zanussi zwd1471w not working, new element has been fitted

Most often that I have found that when a dryer doesn't heat it's not the heating element. But more often one of the temp limit switches. Either the upper or lower limit. An ohm meter can check these.

How to fix a heater zwg 7120p

You will have to purchase the heating element which for your model might look something like the one shown on this site.

Washing Machine Heating Element with Sensor
The instructions to replace this should come with it.
If not then try to download instructions from here which is usually similar for most European front loaders like yours.

Replace Zanussi ZWD12270W faulty dryer heating element

Just for the record, the heating element went on mine too and I'd only used it less than half a dozen times. The engineer said that it went because it hadn't been used enough (it gets moisture inside somewhere). He said if I didn't use it I would have the same problem after it had been replaced. So make sure you dry something every couple of weeks (he said at least once a month).

Zanussi WJD1667W not drying at all

Hi,

I've got this machine, and all washer dryers tend to have two heating elements and it sounds to me that the heating element for the drying side of the machine's functions needs replacing. You could probably find a cheap element for the machine somewhere and get it fitted for a small sum.

Let me know if this rectifies your problem

Won't heat water anymore - only washes in cold water

u need to take the back half panel off once off u will see the two thermostats and the heater element you can test the element by undoing the wires and getting an old wire with plug on 1 end and bear wires on the other place corrisponding wires to were that wire had come of turn plug on and if it is working it will heat up straight away which means the thermostats need replacing if it doesnt then the element needs replacing
