Hello,

Your laptop is booting to a Windows Desktop, so there is no hardware fault or Ram isssue. You may have a lack of free space on C:, but I would suggest the following:

Shut off your laptop if its not off already. Restart after a moment and press F8 while booting, this should get you a startup menu for using Safe Mode. Select Safe Mode and then your presented with an OS choice, usually your windows installation is already highlighted. If it is hit enter, if it isn't use the up/down arrow keys to highlight it and tehn hit enter.

Once you reach a desktop environment you are warned that you are entering Safe Mode, acknowledge that notification, you will proceed into Safe Mode dektop. Does your mouse do what you want? When you press the Windows Logo key on your keyboard does the start menu pop up?

If so, let us know with a reply using the comment box below. We can take some measures to get your problem taken care of shortly.

Regards,
Worldvet

Toshiba satellite l505D-s5983 Keeps freezing and going unresponsive

This sounds like ram memory issue, remove one stick of ram and power up, no change, remove second piece and replace the first, if this works the memory stick in your hand is defective.

7 beep error message for dell inspiron mini 1018

For the Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 Netbook, 7 beeps indicates bad memory (system RAM). The memory will need to be replaced.
The RAM can be replaced using a small Phillips screwdriver and removing the back-plate on the bottom of the laptop. When you see the memory (sticks around 3 inches long), pull those out and put new ones in. Make sure it's the correct DDR2 memory.
Good luck!

I installed two new 1 gigabyte memory sticks into a Dell Inspiron 6000, which previously only had 2 256 megabyte memory sticks installed. When I first installed the 2 gigs of new memory, the laptop turned...

Once you installed the memory, did you enter into the System BIOS Setup screen? Do this and verify that the system recognizes the newly installed 2GB RAM. This should let the system access the new memory once you boot.

Laptop will open and then freezes, cannot do anything

This sounds like a motherboard problem to me. You can still do some diagnose . First try to remove and reset the memory, if you have 2 sticks, try one at the time and switch it around the two open slots.
let know it this helps

I can't locate were you install the memory modules

You can purchase 1GB ram sticks for them...need to shop around.

Access the ram slots by switching laptop off / remove battery / depress on / off switch several X to de-enrgise system. Turn laptop upside down and remove one of the small panels...be carefull you do not lose screws. Very carefully unclip ram stick / lift up and out.

Acer systems are picky about the type of memory you use.
What is your RAM Speed on the old chips compaired to the new chip

You may have to reorder the same type of speed memory

Try this website it will tell you what will work with your system

No post no video Beeps once every sec. The first few times it boot I had video. Then lost video now I have it back. it will run all day when in the bios. But outside the bios trying to load Windows XP home...

Hi...

Actually the problem is the memory witch is beeping every seconds during turning the laptop on. Check your memory stick, remove the memory stick, clean from dust. Reinsert it try to use the other memory slot. If the problem is still occurs the memory stick is bad or faulty already. You need to replace the memory stick.

Good luck!

Thanks for using fixya

Toshiba P35-S611

Either the AC adaptor is broken (easily checked with a volt-meter), or equally/more likely the computer a/c plug (where you stick the charger tip into the computer) has broken a solder connection. This model is prone to solder failure at this joint, especially if you use the plug often. I fixed mine by opening it up and resoldering the plug. Ask a friend if you don't know how, or check around some computer or electronic stores (not the big stores like Best Buy). It is a rather easy fix...very slightly time consuming, but not difficult. Just a lot of screw removals, etc. Hope this helpls.

Non responsive laptop

Hi,
Try removing the memory/RAM. and if it has 2 sticks try just 1 in alternate slots.
Failing this the CPU may have overheated. Without CPU Function. No Processing is acheived.
