Question about Acer Aspire 5100 Notebook
I tried switching the memory sticks around and only using one. My laptop is still unresponsive. Do you have any more suggestions?
Your laptop is booting to a Windows Desktop, so there is no hardware fault or Ram isssue. You may have a lack of free space on C:, but I would suggest the following:
Shut off your laptop if its not off already. Restart after a moment and press F8 while booting, this should get you a startup menu for using Safe Mode. Select Safe Mode and then your presented with an OS choice, usually your windows installation is already highlighted. If it is hit enter, if it isn't use the up/down arrow keys to highlight it and tehn hit enter.
Once you reach a desktop environment you are warned that you are entering Safe Mode, acknowledge that notification, you will proceed into Safe Mode dektop. Does your mouse do what you want? When you press the Windows Logo key on your keyboard does the start menu pop up?
If so, let us know with a reply using the comment box below. We can take some measures to get your problem taken care of shortly.
