My LaCie 500GB Porsche USB drive stopped being recognized by my Mac. After looking up all the suggested problem and troubleshooting suggestions, it turns out that it was the power adaptor that was the problem. Luckily, I was able to diagnose it using a friend's power adaptor (he has the same exact LaCie).
Now, I'm wondering what model power adaptor I need! There's one for LaCie Porsche but there's also one for Bigger Disk. My LaCie has a 4 pin connector, so it's been suggested that I need the Bigger Disk power adaptor rather than the ones labeled LaCie Porsche power adaptor.
Please advise.
Thanks!
Andrea

I heard back from LaCie and they confirmed that the power supply I need for LaCie 500GB Porsche USB is the Bigger Disk power adaptor.
Both power adaptors are 4 pin, ITHINK that the Porsche that you have is the same as mine which has the smaller (4 pin DIN) plug
34W power supply.
But check on LaCie's site:

Hope this helps.
