Why does our TV go through the channell setup everytime we turn it on?

Hi Mary -

The first thing you should do is consult the set up procedures on Page 8 / Section 4 of the manual. This will assure that you have completed and exited this important section properly.

If the TV should lose power (power outage, blown fuse or circuit breaker, cord removed from the outlet, etc.) the TV will likely need to have the setup performed when powered again for the first time. Likewise, a TV that is plugged into an outlet controlled by a switch, will lose power when the switch position is changed. Since switched and un-switched wall outlets look the same, you will need to unplug the TV and plug in a table lamp or similar and operate switches to see if it goes out. You will need to try both the upper and lower outlets as they can be operated independently of each other. If you find that the outlet is switched, you will either have to stop using the switch or find another un-switched outlet to power the TV.

I didn't see it mentioned in the manual, but some TVs have a dedicated power and a dedicated on / off button. If the power button is set to off, the TV will shut off and the remote will not be able to turn the TV back on until the power button is turned back on. The on / off button on the TV allows the TV to be turned on and off with the remote - or the on / off button on the TV. Again, this will only work if the dedicated power button is on. If the power button is set to off, it may be causing the TV to lose the set up information - requiring that it be done again. Make sure that you are using the remote to turn the TV on and off - or the correct button on the TV if you do not have a remote.

If all fails, you might want to contact Sanyo directly. According to the manual, they can be reached at 800-877-5032. I hope this helps & good luck!

I have a Grundig XENTIA 82 FLAT MFW 82-430/8 TV, everytime i turn it on i get a blue screen & the child lock nb to fill in, so i have to type the nb 7038580 to watch tv... how can i cancel this koz...

If this is happening on all the channels I think you will need a total reset. If so open menu and check the settings for child lock when you manually tune. An option is to reset the channels once again after the lock is opened. Choose a new channel scan to reset the memory. However if the lock seems to be only on specified channels you can open the settings of the channel and unlock on the menu.

My 32" G.E. television can

I have had similar experiences. I have a VCR sitting near the television. I found that if I keep the VCR turned on then the TV stops changing channels by itself. If the VCR is turned off, then it starts again. Weird, but it worked for some reason.

Remote stuck--can't change channel or turn off TV

Pull out the power plug of your TV and don't use it for few minutes. Remove batteries from your remote and keep it without batteries for few minutes. After about 15 minutes your TV and remove both will work fine.

TV keeps changing channels

Out of 30 years in the repair field, I have seen this problem maybe 4 times. Once was a stuck button on the keypad of the tv. The other time was a second remote control with a book sitting on it and it would turn the tv on and off when someone would move something on the coffee table, another time was a bad solder connections on the microprocessor on the keypad circuit board and the last time was from a humorous neighbor in an apartment complex who thought he was funny who had an all in one remote control programmed for his neighbor's tv set.
