Panasonic pt-53wX42, power wont stay

panasonic pt-53wX42, power wont stay on. Turn on, no picture then it will turn off by itself after 5 seconds. The red power button will flash on and off until I unplug unit and start the whole process over again

ApprenticeI'm no expert, but I'd start by taking a "VERY GOOD LOOK" w/magnifing glass if possible , @ UR Wall Outlet Power Cord. Change to different wall outlet. Ur Power Cord "should" just pull right out of the back of your TV. If nothing in those places, then take off back panel (or part where power cord plugs into TV & AGAIN inspect area around where power cord attached for, yeah, that's right, the dreaded black area around plug-in area. Maybe it's just a bent prong. Any other funny things going on that U didn't mention here? Good Luck Leonard aka quikstudy@cox.net
