If the flashing is regardless of source, the CRT could be at fault. H to K short. ( heater to cathode)

You can see the DVD logo from the DVD player on the TV, but does not load movie keeps showing loading, have switched to different movies same results.

Seems like problem with the lens of the DVD player. You can find a Disk in the store to clean lens (called as Lens cleaner Disk) Once you run this lens cleaner disk, it should start working if there is not a major problem with DVD player. Hope this helps Please rate if you like this solution
Thanks

Probably dirty pick up lens.
Get a lens cleaning disc and run that and see if that cures problem.

We have a flat screen RCA which has the DVD player built into the TV. It is on the right hand side of the TV. Now, when we insert a DVD, the DVD won't read and play. We get the message "DVD...

Try a different DVD to make sure it's not just a single scratched / damaged DVD.

If it does this for all DVDs, then I recommend returning it and getting a refund / replacement right away before your warranty runs out.

If your warranty is already expired, then you can try one of those lens cleaning disks with a diluted alcohol solution, since it might just be some dust on the DVD laser lens. Most times though, the dvd drive motor is failing and is hardly ever cost effective to repair.

Best of luck and let us know how it turns out.

I have a Toshiba DVD player SD K741. For the past few days, when I load the dvd, I receive a message on my TV screen "Incorrect Disc." What can I do to correct this?

incorrect disk error are common with the user putting in a disc that is not compatible with the player, in most cases it would have been a RW, that was written incorrectly. If this is not the case and it is a original disc you might want to purchase a cleaning dvd witch goes in and cleans the lens.

If that does not work then the unit's lens might be defective at this point.

1. Try other disc
2. try a cleaning disc

If those do not work then the issue is with the lens.

I HAVE A OLDER (2005) TOSHIBA MW24FP3 DVD/VCR/TV COMBO UNIT. THE DVD PLAYER IS STARTING TO RUN OUT OF GAS, SKIPPING, SHUTTLE PROBLEMS ETC. CAN IT ACCEPT AN EXTERNAL DVD PLAYER THROUGH THE FRONT CHASIS...

Absolutely you better bet it can, just hook up the cables to the front and select the input on your tv and you should be ok. For the internal DVD try running a cleaning disk you never know it could be just dirty.
