How do I update my 40 LED tv , and does it need to be updated I have a contour 1080p helmet cam and can't seem to play my Videos directly to my tv , I think I should be able to ? Any solutions Would probally help

A TV doesn't need updates to play Blueray. Just make sure the Blueray player is set to an output that the TV can handle such as 720p, 1080i or 1080p. If you have it set to 1080p and the TV is not 1080p you will get a blue or a blank screen.

1080I and 1080P is more than a software difference. It is a hardware difference in the TV's capability to display a progressive picture at that resolution, so no software update will be able to help you. The processors are only capable of 1080 Interlace, and the TV is only capable of 720 Progressive or 1080 Interlace at it's maximum performance.
