That's a function of either the original resolution of the document(in DPI...dots per inch) or it's in the settings of your pdf convertor(same issue with DPI). the higher that number, the clearer is the output, and also, the larger is the file size too.

Also, more printer resources are here

Issue with scanning documents to PDF however no issues with printing documents

from the sounds of this you have dirt or something on the scanning lenses. you need to check where the document you are scanning is loading it is carried across a lens that creates the image, if this is dirty you will get your symptoms coming out. if you lift the cover where the document is feed in you can clean this lens with some glass cleaner and a soft cloth. if all is printing ok you will waste ink by carrying out cleaning and alignment programs so save your ink and check the lenses for scanned doc. Hope this helps.Andy

I have the canon pixma mx 340 getting ready to print and it says offline...i can't get it to go online HELP!!!

I was assuming you are using a windows xp operating system. Here is what you need to do.

Click on Start
Select Printers and Faxes
See if the printer's icon is blurred or clear. If its blurred then, some of the reasons are usb cable not properly fix to both the printer and the usb slot of your computer / printer was set to use as offline / printer is turn off or has no power.

If the printer's icon is blurred, double click it.
A small window will appear, Press the Printer menu and scroll down to "Use Printer Offline"
Make sure it is uncheck.
Close the window and see if the image of the printer's icon become clear.

Good Luck!

I have recently acquired this printer but don't have the manual. The problem I am having is that sometimes the documents print perfectly, next time I try printing it comes out completely faint and blurred....

You need to clean the print head nozzle and perform alignment exercise. There are instructions in the service manual. Please follow the steps to clean the nozzle and alignment. You may download the manual from here.

IF you have doubts then please revert back. We will help you out.

Colored graphs and colored lettering are printing double or blurred. The blank wording is clear

take out and put the cartridges back again.
after that, do an alignment.

This should solve the problem... if not... it is time to give the printer for repairs.

Blurred color images

I'm not sure of what brand and/or model you have, but most have a maintenance mode to do color alignment.

Need to clean print head. some lines are blurred

The following solution is under the assumption you have installed the complete software via the supplied CD with your Epson Printer.

Right-click the printer icon on your taskbar (in the lower right corner of your screen).
Select Head Cleaning.

If you don’t see the icon, go to your printer properties window and click the Maintenance tab, then select Head Cleaning.

Brother MFC-210c prints some lines blurred, letters stacked - alignment ok.

i have the same problem. repeated cleanings seem to help, when i print large fonts they come out pretty clear, but the smaller the font, the worse the blurring. 600 DPI prints mismatching patterns, but 1200 DPI prints perfectly fine. so i have found that printing on "fine" quality instead of "fast" or "normal" quality improves print quality ALOT. it uses more ink, but i am in business and need to be able to read very fine print!
