Tabbing My IBM Wheelwriter 10 Series II seems to have something wrong with the tabbing. When I hit the tab button it brings the wheel all the way to the end of the typewriter. Is there a way to fix the tabbing so that it only indents?

Have you set a tab where you want it to stop? If it wont keep tab settings after being turned off it may need batterys.

The only sound you can turn off is the optional spell check feature which is done by holding down the code button (left of the spacebar) and then hitting the number 1. Any other beeps cannot be turned off.

Your print solenoid probably has a broken cap. There are some companies that sell the "kit" with instructions on how to replace the cap.

My ibm wheelwriter beeps 1 time when i tab

Does anything else work? It is possible your right margin is set to close to the left margin. Try tabbing all the way to the right, set the right margin, hit the return and then hit the tab. If it beeps and goes all the way to the right, try setting some tab stops and retry the test.

I have an IBM Wheelwriter 15 Series II and the ribbon needed replaced so we replaced it, now when you try to top it just types the top half of the letters??????

Make sure both tabs on the rear of the cartridge are in their respective slots. If that does not work, try pushing down on the black platen roller on both ends. If one side is not locked in place, you will get half letters.

Need to reset all the margins on IBM Wheelwriter 10 Series II. The margin release button will not release the left margin.

The problem may be that the carrier is binding on return, put some light lube (WD40 works well) on the silver shaft that the carrier slides on.
