Hello shelby4844,
Is the front panel coming on? I ask because if it is not this is indicating possible power supply failure. In this case the switching power supply might be having a problem. I would suggest that you have someone who is skilled in electronics work on this problem for you since the power supply delivers current and voltage that could be hazardous to your health. Now that being said, this problem could be cause by a blown fuse, first unplug the DVD player, open it up, and find the fuse. The fuse will look like two metal caps separated by a glass or ceramic housing containing a strand of wire. Once you find this fuse. Take it out and measure it with an ohmmeter, the fuse should read 0 ohms (dead short from one cap to the other. If the fuse is not bad then one of the other components may be bad, at this point, the testing should be done by someone who is skilled in electronics.
I hope this help,
Thank you,
