Driver I want to install the proper driver for this monitor. The CD I have says "Dell E173FP monitor user documentation" and claims to contain an HTML document as well as the driver. It does indeed have an HTML document, but the instructions for installation found on there do not work.

Presuming you have a Dell PC go to http://support.dell.com/

Click drivers and downloads and enter the tag number. This is usually 7 characters long and on a sticker on your Computer Tower, it clearly states tag

Now look for Monitor, video and chipset drivers

download and install the latest versions of these.

Screen blank green light flashing slowly

chriswowe359

Normally when the power light is flashing green on the monitor this means that the video drivers are having problems.

Note with LCD monitors they are very picky about the signal that they get and if they get a signal that they can not support they will go black to keep them from burning out.

The best way to fix this issue is to connect a CRT monitor to your computer and reboot the system. After you reinstall the video card driver you may need to also install the actual monitor drivers for the monitor. Note in most cases the default Windows driver will send the proper info over to the monitor but in this case that driver is where the problem is and updating to the actual driver will help keep this problem from happening again. The link below will show you how to update the monitor driver in Windows 7.

How to install your monitor drivers in Windows 7

If you still have trouble or do not have access to a CRT monitor you may want to try the monitor on another computer. If it works then you will need to back up your data and reinstall Windows on your computer.

Need driver that is compatible with windows 7

Hi,

As far as I know there are no drivers needed for windows 7 for your Dell E173FP 17' LCD Monitor. Maybe you're referring to the Graphics card driver. Just look at the manufacturers website and they have the updated drivers on it. (Ex. NVIDIA, ATI etc.)

Hope this helps.

I need a Vista Driver for Dell E173FP. I can only find Windows 2k and XP drivers. Please Help!

You don't really need a driver, it's perfectly OK if it stays as "Plug and Play monitor". Monitors communicate with the graphics cards to inform about the modes in which they can operate.
All you have to do is find out the "native" or "recommended" screen resolution and refresh frequency for your monitor model and set these values in Windows' Display Properties - Settings.
In case of DELL E173FP it will be: resolution 1280x1024 and 60Hz refresh.

I only have low resolution and color-bit.

By "installing" the monitor. Install the proper driver for your particular monitor and it will work and allow you to adjust resolution. "Uninstalled" monitors use a default system driver that lets you see something so you can install the proper drivers.
