Normally when the power light is flashing green on the monitor this means that the video drivers are having problems.
Note with LCD monitors they are very picky about the signal that they get and if they get a signal that they can not support they will go black to keep them from burning out.
The best way to fix this issue is to connect a CRT monitor to your computer and reboot the system. After you reinstall the video card driver you may need to also install the actual monitor drivers for the monitor. Note in most cases the default Windows driver will send the proper info over to the monitor but in this case that driver is where the problem is and updating to the actual driver will help keep this problem from happening again. If you still have trouble or do not have access to a CRT monitor you may want to try the monitor on another computer. If it works then you will need to back up your data and reinstall Windows on your computer.
