Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Hello,This is a major problem with this series Kodak camera, as they age the switch either stops working or just falls apart !! The cost to repair would exceed the cost of a newer camera on E-Bay, I would stay away from this style control unless camera is new. Hope this helps.

What is a ccd and what is the cost for one?

In this context, a CCD is a charge-coupled device.

The sensor is probably the most expensive component in a compact digital camera. Given the age of the i5, you'll have a hard time finding a replacement part. It'll almost certainly cost less to buy a new camera.

Try the procedures in this tip. If they don't work, consider getting a new camera. Given the age of the L18, it'll cost less to replace it than to repair it.

Normal 0 Because of the age and the fact that it may cost more to fix your camera than to just buy a replacement, I would suggest you buy a replacement. The problem could be anything from dirty battery contacts (try shining them up with a pencil eraser) to faulty electronics (dropping or dampness could effect these) and there is really no way to know without more information. And we go back to the age and replacement cost. A new A480 runs about $100 now.

Lens will not retract

I had a Canon IXUS II do this.

Unfortunately it required a new lens which the repairer could not supply due to its age. The repairer replaced the camera for the same cost with much more recent model! The repair cost was £70 plus postage. (This was 4 years ago now when a new camera would have cost over £199).

If its under warrantee use it - Sadly it might be cheaper at todays prices to replace it instead of have it fixed.
