    Model # M50WH72S

    Thank you!

  • Kialee72 Jul 24, 2008

Just want to add that when we push the power button the light blinks like it is trying to come on but doesn't. We used to have just sound but now we get nothing except that blinking light. The TV is only a year old, just over the warrantee date. Been through the owers manual and have tried everything.

Thank you I will try that. Where do I locate these capacitators?

  • Kialee72 Jul 26, 2008

You were right it was the capacitors. Two were bad and a third was starting to go bad. I had to have a tech come and fix it but at least I knew what to tell him. Works great now! Thank you for your help!

Your model has the ATC 332 chassis which has a couple of comon faults. One is the lamp door switch has a tendency to not make contact. And the other are two capacitors that go bad on the power supply Board they are CP624 and CP647 look at those two capacitors for signs of swelling or a rust color residule on the top . Let me know what you find or if you need more assistance

You will have to remove the back panel and you will see the power supply board, it will have the power cord attached to it, and the capacitor location numbers will be stamped on the circuit board next to those two capacitors.

Rca hdtv dlp screen flashing

Sounds like it could be the power supply. Try changing the brightness of the screen and changing picture modes like movie or standard. If this causes the flashing to change in severity, it will most likely be the power supply board

I have a 10 year old RCA 50 inch big screen TV with marks on the screen that seem to be on the inside. How do I clean the inside of the screen, thanx Lon

marks inside the tv glass should only be cleaned by a professional because you may damage the extremely sensitive parts of the television, if its not to bothersome to you , you should ignore it as you will probably be charged an arm and a leg for this,(i know from experience)

you can also try adjusting the picture settings until it becomes less noticeable

RCA 50" Projection TV

When you have picture, look a the back of the TV and see where light is eminationg from through grill or vent of some sort. When you lose the picture, see if you still have light. If you do, then you don't have a ballast problem you have some sort of Light Engine problem and that will be an expensive fix, but not as expensive as if you have to replace the ballast that drives the back light.

RCA light comes on and then goes off. Tv doesn't turn on

replace CP150 and CP114 you can get them at the following link they also have the ITC222 service manual which is listed under Thomson as Thomson makes your TV for RCA. The Capacitors are listed under the RCA parts and they do send instructions with pictures of where the capacitors are located as well as how to remove the board.
