How do I disable the touchpad on an acer travelmate 5520

    Why do you wish to disable the touch pad?

    I have several customers who have disabled the touchpad on Acers when they have used an external monitor and mouse and then found that they cannot re-enable it when using the laptop normally.

control panel - mouse settings - there's a check box Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is connected

There are buttons and key combintions on laptops to enable and disable the touchpad.this depends on each models.in general, it is the Fn+F7 key

How do i reset my acer travelmate 5520 to factory settings and wipe hard drive?


start computer when acer logo appears press F2 to go into BIOS settings scroll across to BOOT top menu bar with the arrow buttons scroll down to D2D enable/disable change to enable and ENTER. save and exit. restart computer once again when acer logo appears press <Alt>+<F10> at the same time to enter the recovery process, refer to on screen instructions to recover system.

The touchpad gets very hot after about 30minutes use the touchpad gets hotter and hotter


may be its placed on a surface without proer ventilation. it should not be placed on bed,carpet and lap as the heat cant dissipate under such circumstances. try to get a ventilation pad for the aptop. it might help u. good luck!

Yes, you usually need a driver for printers. You can get the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the printer (eg. www.hp.com)
