My computer has no sound.

Try reinstalling the audio driver.
1. Log onto your computer manufacturer's website and find the "support" section. Find your model and there should be a section for drivers.
2. Choose your operating system, and look for a driver for audio.
3. Install it, restart your computer.
Sometimes the driver can become corrupted. Try this solution and if it doesn't work ask your question again, explaining that you have already tried reinstalling the driver.

My laptop sounds has gone

Try
1. Remove the audio driver and reinstall it. (My Computer right-click > Properties > Device Manager > Audio Devices > Reinstall Drivers)
2. Check if some other software which you are using is controlling the audio driver. (Restart in Safe mode and see if the sound is working)
3. Take expert help from a technician..You sound card might have stopped working.

I recently intalled new Zune software for Vista, but my Zune player does not synchronize with my system.

If it doesn't connect, I suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the Zune software.
Try to use a different USB port you haven't used before, so Vista will reinstall the USB drivers for the specific port.
If that doesn't work, with the Zune in, go to Device Manager and uninstall and reinstall the drivers that are installed for in the DM.

I hav downloaded intel dg31pr audio driver for windows xp but while installing it appeard as "this driver version is older than the system one". please solve my problem...,,,

Well mahatab9, you have not told us if there is any audio driver installed on your computer or not. But the error message clearly stated that, you have an audio driver already installed for your motherboard model. So, if the driver is not properly working or you just want to upgrade it, you should use Intel Auto Driver Updater for best result. This will show if there is any updated version of your installed drivers are available or not. To do this, click on the following link to automatically identify and update your drivers and softwares.
Automatically Update your Driver
Now click on "Check Your System for Latest Updates" to start analyzing your computer. This will show whether your system requires an upgrade or not.
IMPORTANT: This utility is for Intel Motherboards only.
But still, if this utility doesn't show any upgrade to your audio driver, then you can manually download this driver as your motherboard INTEL DG31PR supports the Realtek HD Audio driver only for best response. If you have already installed any other audio driver than Realtek, please uninstall that and install this one. To download this, click on this following link:
Download latest Realtek HD Audio Driver
This installation will remove any previous version of Realtek and install the newest one automatically.
Hope this helps, Regards,

I downgraded to windows XP 2002, now I can,t use

Hello there!

That could be only problem with your sound device drivers. Do your speakers work?
If they arent also working then I'm probably right, try and reinstall your sound drivers on your new machine again, if thats not working, try to download them from internet, and you should have your problem fixed.

And one more thing, if we are thinking about the same microphone (the one integrated to your laptop computer) then you should be fixing your problem with steps i told you. Good luck!

Sincerely

I just downloaded the audio and video drivers but the volume level is too low. the os is a windows xp and the laptop is a sager D270s.

You can double check if the audio driver is already properly installed or not, Open Device manager and look for the audio device there you should see something like Realtek or any High def audio device there if its not listed there it only means one thing that the audio driver is not yet installed properly. so you need to reinstall the driver, but if its there right click the audio device and select uninstall and once its gone restart the computer to reinstall it back and check if the sound is already working fine....

Microphone set up

Hi,
You should probably try reinstalling your sound drivers.
If thats not the case then there might be somethin wrong with your microphone jack.

Microphone

Which motherboard (manufacturer? model-number?) do you have?
Which sound-card (integrated onto motherboard? separate PCI card?) do you have?
Are you plugging the microphone into the "pink" socket on your sound-card?

Microphone does not work even though it says its working properly and driver is "installed"

You need to uninstall the driver, and then reinstall the driver.
Your driver might be corrupted and Vista does not recognize it.
