Replace the multipoint gas re-igniter, it is a blue unit behind the knobs. This unit detects the flame and stops the clicking. Call Fisher and Paykel (owners of DCS) at 1 888 936-7872, they sell parts for DCS. The old inferior unit is blue and has a whte label. The newer unit has a yellow label.

I recently replaced the igniter on my DCS 366 and everything seemed fine for a couple of days and then the clicking started again. This time we have 1 burner that doesn't click when lit while 5 are clicking when lit. If I change the order I attach the wires that correspond to the burners on the igniter, the burner that does not click changes location. I'm am wondering if I somehow I damaged the igniter and need to replace it again. Any ideas?

Having serious problem with the ignite. When I turn it on and its lit the clicking of the spark does not stop. Also, one of ranges will not light at all! Help.

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Oven will not turn on. the gas burners are working. i don't smell gas, however, the oven will not heat up. any suggestions? we've had this range for about 5 years, and this is the first problem we've had...

the gas oven is ignited by a small electric element that glows red at a pre-set current it opens the gas valve and ignites the gas 9/10 times its as simple as replacing the igniter. the other 1 is a gas valve or the themostat control or a board ...try the igniter first cheap "relatvily" easy and you can probably do it your self ( if you are so inclined) Good Luck turn off the gas turn off the electricity and work carefully

My oven won't heat up and just smells like gas but my stove burners work

Hello, This is going to be a problem with your igniter/glow bar. Over time these get old and although you may see it glowing iit still may be bad. Your igniter should glow a brillient yellow and should ignite the gas within 15 seconds of the valve opening. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again...Good Luck! Mike

Dcs 48" gas range igniter comes back when set on low/simmer

This is not a solution but something to think about for troubleshooting.
On the DCS there are two ports that feed gas to the burner.
One for high flame and one for simmer.
On the DCS if the flame is snuffed out on simmer it will automatically reignite.
So if the igniter will not shut off while on simmer, the sensor is bad and is trying to reignite the burner.

Gas burners are ticking

The ticking sound you hear is the electronic ignition which is located by each burner. When you turn a burner on the electronic ignition creates a spark which ignites the gas. Once the burner is ignited. turn the knob a bit further and the ticking will stop.

Broiler not working, Oven OK

We have a DCS RG-366 SS L, a 36" gas range and the igniter went out. You could smell gas and the igniter would glow red - but no fire across the broiler.

There is a place in Michigan called RepairClinic.com. We bought a replacement igniter from them and it works like a charm. It was $53 (we live close by and didn't have to have it shipped).

The item number (from the invoice) is 1191 and the box the igniter came in looks like it is manufactured by FSP, code 082005, and there is a larger number on the box that says 786324 IGNTR-OVEN.

Hope this helps.
