MSI is not very good on their older cards.
The default Microsoft drivers in Win7 and Win8 are the first place to go if the MSI website does not have the driver for an MSI card.
Look for the driver using Google, not MSI.
OS upgrades are cheap, the only problem with Win8.1 is that you have to use the 32 bit version on many older PCs.
MSI have an automatic driver update online goto here http://www.msi.com/service/download/ thats hoping you have an internet connection, if not maybe buy a cheap USB network adapter to get you online and get all the latest drivers. Cheers from Scott and plz vote
Plz check the back side of the motherboard. It may having a white sticker with model number. The said number is required to download the exact driver from MSI support site.

so buy sound card, and end all this.
msi ended support on K8t long ago.
sound is not simple many PC this is 1 to3 chips wired custom
and with mixers and more.
learn that and learn there is no support now, and buy a sound card listed at w7 supported.. 64b it !!!
