and everytime i try to text either on the qwerty keyboard or front screen it freezes and i have to take the battery out to get it to be normal can i fix that?

The front screen of my phone, no matter how many times I hit ok, it never unlocks, so I can't do anything on the front screen, dial numbers or text.
