Question about Refrigerators
Just had our repaired for 3rd time in 3 years. Plastic gears on left side are the culprit. On strips and the other breaks.

The first symptom of dirty condenser coils is that the ice maker stops getting to zero degrees. (That's what it requires to kick the ice out.) The first thing to check is dirt and dust bunnies on the hot coils.
Put a stick type thermometer in a stick of butter or a pint of ice cream and wait a day to see if the freezer is set getting to zero F.
