Question about Sewing Machines
I have a Kenmore 158.900 that uses cams that are manualy changed. I was blessed with the machine and know nothing about how that stuffs works. I have a users manual and the cams but in attempting the cam stitches I only get a "normal" zig-zag stitch. I removed the top cover and it feels like some "linkage?" is loose. Looking at an over view pic in the manual is looks like some parts aren't in the same place.
Facing the s.m. w.lid removed, the 2 adjustments easily spotted are at the nearest edge........, 2 screws on the left that are moved for adjusting, and on the right a gizmo that reminds me of an enclosed turnbuckle type of adjustment. It's entered at both ends but treaded pieceand on the ends appears to be back up nuts to secure but I'm really in the dark.
I'm not sure how this stuff is really supposed to look or be lined up or how to fiddle w/ the turnbuckle gizmo or what.
I've hoped to find a service manual for free online but haven't lucked up yet.
Here is a service manual that will help you alot. Though its not free once you have this you will be able to fix ANY 158 model Kenmores.
