Question about Mitsubishi XL1XU Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Automatic power shut off

Drhan,

Did you ever get a solution to the problem? I also have a Mitsubishi XL1XU Multimedia Projector that acts as if the lamp needs to be changed--but does not and will not start up. I have taken out the lamp and reset the timer. I have put in a new lamp and reset the timer. Still--after initial power on, the power led goes green and the lamp led goes green; then the power led goes red and the lamp led flashes green for a bit; and then the lamp led shuts off and the power led goes red--she has shut down. Nothing seems to break the cycle.

The projector comes on, shows an image, then shuts off

power supply problem. the capacitors are probably drying out. it takes a boost of power to strike the lamp, and if the power supply can't handle it, it shuts down. replace the power supply.

Hi there

The most common cause for a Ballast to go faulty is power failures & power spikes and off course lightning.

I normally advise my clients to hook up a UPS to the Projector just to make the power supplied to the Projector more even and smooth.

Ballast problems however occurs more than often on any model of Mitsubishi I have found.
