Hello Sandy,

I used to recondition these for resale. In almost all cases, I recommend purchasing an original Xbox wired controller. Understood this is not wireless, however it will enable you to use the Xbox.

New or refurbished controllers are relatively inexpensive and can be purchased at Gamestop, Amazon or eBay.

I hope this helps.

Ho w to fix x box from controller to x box is really slow how to make it normal

Learn how to connect a wireless or wired controller to your Xbox 360 console.
Connect a wireless Xbox controller
  1. Turn on your console.
  2. Press and hold the Guide button on the controller until the controller turns on.

  1. When the lights surrounding the power button on the console stop flashing, the controller is connected.
On the Xbox 360 S console, each connected controller is assigned to one of four positions. Each position corresponds to a lighted section around the console power button and the controller Guide button. On the 360 E console, a solid green light on the front of the console indicates that the controller is connected. To determine the player position associated with your accessory, look at the ring of light that surrounds the Guide button on the controller.

You can also use the Xbox 360 Play & Charge Kit or the Xbox 360 Quick Charge Kit to power the controller. Learn more about Xbox controllers and chargers.
To connect additional controllers, follow these same steps again. You can connect up to four controllers to the console. Each connected controller is assigned a position that corresponds with the lighted sections that appear around the console's power button and around the Guide button located in the middle of each controller.
  • To disconnect a wireless controller, press and hold the Guide button for three seconds, and then choose to turn the controller off.
  • When you turn off the console, the controller will reconnect the next time you turn on the console.
  • The controller can be connected to only one console at a time. You can connect the controller to a different console, but the connection to the previously connected console will be lost.
Connect a wired Xbox controller

Wireless controller troubleshooting
If your wireless controller disconnects or cannot connect to your console, see Xbox 360 Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect.
If your wireless controller does not turn on or loses power, try the following solutions:
Solution 1: Replace the batteries
Insert a new set of AA alkaline batteries into the Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and then try to turn it on.
Solution 2: Try a different battery pack
If you have another Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, take the battery pack off that controller and attach it to your controller. Then try to turn your controller on.
If your controller works with the different battery pack, your original battery pack might be defective. If your controller is under warranty, you can order a replacement battery pack from Xbox Support . See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.
If your controller is out of warranty, you can buy a new battery pack from a retail store.
Solution 3: Try a rechargeable battery packIf you or a friend has an Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack, attach that battery pack to your controller and try to use your controller. If your controller works with the rechargeable battery pack attached, you can buy a new battery pack from a retail store or order a replacement battery pack from Xbox Support. See the Assistance section at the bottom of this page for more information.

Have recently purchased an xbox and the controller has connected to it once for about 10mins, i press the connect button on the xbox wait til the lights goes round and then press the controller connection...

The easiest way to connect your new conroller to your xbox is to plug it into the usb port in the front. This will identify that controller from then on to that Xbox 360 when you use it wireless. (or until you connect it to a different Xbox 360).

You might not be pushing the correct button when trying to sync your controller with the Xbox 30. On the controller you have the main guide button but the button you want is the one on top of the controller to the left of the port were you plug in your charge and play cord. It is small an of the same color as the controller. You need to push it along with the connect button on the Xbox for them to sync.

If you are still having issues then you might have weak batteries. Make sure your batteries are charged and ready to go. Try using AA batteries if you can and see if that solves your issue?

Also, some devices in your house can cause interference with your controllers if they are operating on the same frequency. (i.e. wireless phones, mocrowaves...etc.) Make sure your xbox is away from locations with conflicting frequencies. Metal shelves can also cause havoc on wireless controllers. Make sure your xbox is free of clutter and has breathing room.

Hope this helps.

X box controller keeps turning itself off - I have put new batteries in

Connection problems might be caused by one or more of the following factors:
  • Weak batteries or a weak Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack
  • Interference from another wireless device, such as a microwave oven, a cordless phone, or a wireless router
  • Metallic objects positioned between the console and the wireless controller, such as a chrome faceplate or metal dividers, shelves, or doors on an entertainment center cabinet

Note All licensed Xbox 360 console faceplates are tested for interference, and do not interfere with licensed wireless devices.
  • There are already four controllers connected to the console.

If your controller is still not working, try the next solution. uparrow.gifBack to the top Solution 2: Replace the batteries or the Rechargeable Battery PackInsert fresh AA batteries, or attach a fully charged Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack to your controller. If you have an Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack
  • Remove the battery pack and reattach it to your controller, making sure that it is attached correctly.
  • Press and hold the Xbox Guide button. In the upper-left area of the Xbox Guide button, the battery meter indicates your current level of battery strength. You might need to recharge the battery pack, if the level is low.

    Collapse this imageExpand this imagecontlrftbtn.jpg

If you have an Xbox 360 Play & Charge kit
  • Make sure that the Xbox 360 Rechargeable Battery Pack is correctly connected to your controller and plugged into one of your console's USB ports. If you check both of those things but are still having the problem, try the suggestion below.
  • Plug the charge cable into each USB port on your console, one by one. There are two USB ports on the front of the console and one on the back. If the controller works in one USB port but not another, try another accessory in the USB port that did not work with the controller. If the USB port does not work with any accessory, your Xbox 360 console might need to be repaired.
  • Turn off vibration feedback (rumbling) on the controller. If you play games with feedback while charging, it takes longer for the controller to charge and might drain the battery pack faster than it can recharge. Here's how to turn vibration off.
    1. Press the Xbox Guide button on the controller.
    2. Go to the Settings area, and then select Preferences.
    3. Select Vibration.
    4. Select Enable Vibration to clear the checkbox.
If your controller is still not working, try the next solution. uparrow.gifBack to the top Solution 3: Remove objects between the controller and the consoleThe controller works within 33 feet (10 meters) of your console. However, objects placed between the controller and the console might reduce this range. In addition, objects that use wireless technology (for example, a cordless phone) can interfere with your wireless controller. Remove or relocate objects or wireless devices that might interfere with the wireless controller or console. Here are some things that can cause problems:
  • Microwave ovens
  • Cordless phones
  • Wireless routers
  • Chrome faceplates
  • Metal dividers
  • Shelves
  • Doors on an entertainment center cabinet
Note All licensed Xbox 360 console faceplates are tested for interference, and do not interfere with licensed wireless devices.

If your controller is still not working, try the next solution. uparrow.gifBack to the top Solution 4: Disconnect all controllers and headsetsIf all four rings surrounding the power button on the console are green but the controller has four flashing green lights, four controllers might already be connected to the console. Disconnect all of the controllers, and then try to connect the controller with the problem.
  • To disconnect a wireless controller, press and hold the Xbox Guide button for three seconds, and then turn the controller off.
  • To disconnect a wireless headset, turn the headset off.
  • To disconnect a wired controller or headset, unplug its cable from the console.

I have a old xbox system and my wireless controllers by pelican brand pl-2050 one will not link up to the xbox what to do!!

Check to verify that your batteries are installed correctly.
- Check to verify that the power is on. Check to verify that the signal LED is blinking

If this does not solve the problem, do the following:

1. Make sure your Xbox is turned off.
2. Remove the battery lid and place 2 AA batteries into the Blade 2.4 Street Wireless Controller. Make sure the batteries are inserted as shown in the battery compartment.
3. Insert the receiver into your Xbox controller slot of your choice and power up the controller FIRST, then your Xbox.
4. Press the Connect button on the receiver once. Your signal LED light will begin to flash slowly.
5. Press the Back button on your controller. This will program the receiver to connect to the controller each time it is uses.
6. Turn on your Xbox and insert a game.

X-box 360 controller will not switch on

Sometimes you have to beware of unknown batteries, because some companies that make the batteries are fake... However, look below for some of my FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

1. My battery pack won't does not work, and/or it will not turn on...

First, make sure that you have the right batteries that are known like Duracell. Next, DO NOT plug in the charger into your controller when you have AA batteries in your battery pack. Then, make sure that you press and hold the sync button of your Xbox 360 console, and your controller.

2. My wireless controller automatically turns off during gameplay...

First, make sure that you turn off the vibration of your controller, because the vibration takes away your controller's energy, and the lease power your controller will have. Next, please read the Frequently Asked Questions guide for wireless controllers, because there are some important steps about the wireless controllers. They usually have the problem with charging and changing AA batteries.

Guitar Hero Flashing Sensor Lights

Hi there,

Im guessing due to needing batteries that your Guitar is the Wireless type ?!

Have you correctly Synchronised your Xbox 360 with the Guitar controller ?

to do this, Turn on the Xbox and Guitar press the round "sync" button on the bottom of the guitar, next to its Ethernet port, and also press the small round sync button on the Xbox 360 (located to the left of the memory slots on the front face) at the same time, the rings of light on both the Xbox and the guitar will Turn in a clockwise motion letting you know they are synching, after that the Xbox will assign the guitar to a controller slot. then it should work.

If this doesn't work then im afraid your guitar may have a faulty wireless chip, which would require you to get a replacement.

hope it gets sorted !
