Hi, I'm really having a tough time searching for a replacement for the light bulb socket in my old (looks like >10 years) kitchen hood. I can't see where the model number of the hood is, so I don't know how to get the part. Is there a generic socket for old Air Fare hoods that I can order?
The chances are that your range hood light socket was fully impacted with grease from cooking. Shut the power off to the range hood or, in many applications, simply unplug the power cord. Remove the socket. Get a spray can of electrical parts cleaner and saturate the socket through the tiny pin holes you may see at back of socket. shake out all of the cleaner fluid. Somehow hang the socket up with bulb base facing up all night. Hook it up. That might solve the problem.
It worked for me very recently on a 20 year old range hood.
DON'T USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN AN OFFICIAL ELECTRICAL PARTS CLCEANER. Most hardware stores, etc., have it.

Turned on bright light and low fan speed on Zephyr Typhoon AK2100 series (stainless). Heard "pop", burning insulation smell, saw smoke. Fans stopped turning but bright lights remained "on". Now only bright lights work, not dim lights or fans. What is wrong, who can repair in Houston area.

A local small contractor installed our Kobe RA3830SQ Range Hood a few days ago. We have not been too impressed with the efficiency of the fan. Today I noticed that it seems to blow out instead of sucking out the air. Is it possible that the wires were connected erroneously. Thanks

Hi, I have a Eurotech Extractor fan model number HI-601X that is turning itself off after about a minute. Has a little rest and then runs for maybe another minute. It is 6 years old. Does this sound like a common or simple problem? Should I bother trying to get it repaired? Thanks.
