Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5500 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Scanning I am trying to scan a color photo that has a picture at the top of the page, a picture at the bottom of the page and printed information in the center. When I scan it as a photo it only scans the picture part at the bottom of the page. when I scan it as a document the whole page scans but in blak and white, not color. I am scanning on a 5300 to a Mac G4 w/OS X, 10.4.11. Thanks, Rob

Printing an enlarged version of a scanned photo

The best way is to use software like Corel PhotoPaint and RESAMPLE the pix to the sze you want. YOu typically will get better resolution.

You could also try selecting the "Fit To Page" setting of the printer window before you tell it to print.

Color is all wrong

Your pictures are coming out with a blue tint. Remove the color catridge and look at the bottom of it. the Yellow is probably green. If it isn't, trying performing a printhead cleaning through your home center. After that, calibrate the printer, you may see that on the calibration sheet, that colors are missing. Scan the calibration page and then try your printing your pictures. If that doesn't work, contact kodak tech support, you need a new printhead.

Printing blank pages

Make sure your set to "print" and not scan. The blank pages may be a 'print' of the lid on your scanner top

All in one

this can be a tricky issue, just like getting pictures to print out the size you want. basically, you either need a program like Adobe photoshop where you can change the size of the image, or you need to scan them in at a higher resolution. you can set this in your scanning software before you scan the photo. to give you a rough example: your laptop screen might have a resolution around 1280x720, if scan in a photo at 640x480, it will only cover around half your screen. This is the simple way to do it. If you have photoshop, you can open any sized picture and change the picture size (sometimes you will loose quality). hope this helps :)
