Thank you for you help. But since I posted, Toshiba contacted me and made an exchange with another TV which is much better. I am now satisfied. Thank you Toshiba.

My TV was making a stuck fan noise, so I called Toshiba. They sent me to Teletech 253-582-8111. I called and made an appointment to being in my tv. First, they took a week and a half, noting that they test the TV’s for a couple of days before releasing it back to the over. This issue cost me $400.00.Once I picked up the TV and brought it home. I first noticed that the color was off and it got worse fast. In a couple of days, we were unable to even see the TV. I called back and Teletech advised me that I would need to being in the TV again. I took the TV back into them and in and (they once more) had the TV for another week and a half. I called as they don’t seem to keep the customer updated with the status. They told me that they used a part of a color wheel that they had (new) in the shop, hoping that this would fix the issue. However what it did was cause the color wheel to fail and now I need to pay another 330.00 for a new color wheel. Now what do I do??

My stepson had a 52hm95 with a noisy color wheel - I took it out, pried the wheel up and off the motor shaft, cleaned, oiled lightly and reassembled (snaps back down on shaft) with no noise - if you try this, be careful not to damage the small wires going from the flat cable to the motor coils - good luck!

Optoma gt700 is all green after replacing color wheel

we mainly retail or distribute color wheel, light tunnel ect sparet parts for projector or TV, so we have experience on that problem you faced.

perhaps you ordered a compatible color wheel, but it is not big trouble. compared with your old wheel, you will find a black tape, just make it as the same position as your old wheel, it will be ok.

Tv went grayscreen, flickering. turned off, then

When you had gray screen and flickering you had only one problem - color wheel. After "putting everything together" you have totally different problem, caused by multiple possibilities like: forgotten connectors, cut/jammed cables/wires, lamp not being inserted properly, lamp door not being set properly, disconnected color wheel, etc. Try to open rear cover and redo what you have done. Remove optical block, check everything visually and slowly put everything back. If still no luck - then only skilled TV repairman may (or may not) help.

Color wheel

Not just any color wheel will work.
You will need to order the correct one.
I would suggest that you contact a service center in your area for a complete diagnosis and repair, as this type of repair can get a little tricky. But if you want to repair the set yourself, just remember to be careful

I usually order my parts from Andrews Electronics in California, they will have the OEM components that you will need.
Their site is http://www.andrewselectronics.com/welcome.aspx
And their phone number is a 24-Hour Order Desk: (800) 274-4666
I recommend the phone order so you can talk to the person about price and availablity.

You can also try http://www.tvrepairkits.com/ , I have not tried them yet, but they do carry OEM or better parts.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.
If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. (Two Thumbs Up)
Please Note: If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please do not leave any rating. I am doing this for free and I do not think that any rating other that the best is needed.
If you need further assistance please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

MY TV COLOS GO AWAY GOES DARK CLOUDY KIND OF GRAYISH

Check your color wheel sounds like that is going bad. 90% of the time the color wheel is the culprit in this cause. You will need to remove the back panel to get the to color wheel. You will see 7 different plastic adjustments. You can also order this part online at mitsubishis website

Loud humming noise when you turn on the TV

There are only two parts in this set that have moving parts and can create noise. One is the color wheel and the other is the fan. There are actually two fans. One you can easily see from the back of the set when you remove the cover and the other is not visible. The most likely cause of this hum is the color wheel. It has bearings and they wear out. You need to be careful when or if you attempt to replace it. There are actually two types of color wheel for this model. Samsung doesn't tell you this. One has air bearings and the other has ball bearings. Mine had ball bearings and I ordered the part I thought was correct. I replaced it and it worked for about at day then failed. I thought maybe I had a defective part and returned the color wheel and ordered another one. Same result. I did some further research and ended up ordering the ball bearing type of color wheel instead of the air bearing type. There is a website that shows you the difference.
This seems to have resolved the issue. Good luck. It's not too difficult to change this color wheel but you do have to dismantle the set a bit and it helps to be somewhat mechanically inclined. make sure to take notes as you take it apart so you remember how to get it back together.

Our Samsung HL-P4663W DLP is makes noise and shuts off

It is the color wheel, inside the light engine. The bearings get dirty and makes it harder for the wheel to spin causing that whin.

Vivitek 51'' DLP color wheel

it's not hard at all, trust me. but you have to go at it slowly when doing it for the first time. it's just about unscrewing and disconnecting wires. Nothing that is hard to reach either. I can help you step by step if you want, just email me.
However, my problem is to get the correct color wheel!!!! I have ordered twice from Vance Baldwin now and looks like they keep shipping me the wrong color wheel? first, the new color wheel does not look like the old one, then its wire connection is shorter making it harder to connect and then when done, the tv switches all the colors around: so red becomes blue and blue becomes red! what's going on???? I tried it twice with 2 new color wheel?I gave them the correct model number along with the serial number and they assure me the color wheel they shipped me is the correct one but I swear it is not!!!! so what's going on?
If anybody has an answer on how to deal with this, please let me know! here is my email:
chuericly@gmail.com. Thanks.

Pinkish red screen

Your set doesnt have a color wheel you have 3 CRTs instead. Try turning down the red drive on the red crt circuit board that should help if not check the resistor that is connected to the red drive switch Vasriable resistor(switch) that is probably open if not the crt is probably at fault. If you need more info let me know.
