I had a similar problem with my macbook. Screen went black then it clicked off and would not start up again. Thought my battery was dead but not the case. Took it to the apple store and they said the mother board was shot and would cost $750 to fix. They said the mother board showed corrosion and they said maybe I spilled something on it but that NEVER happened and when I opened up my macbook to look for this corrosion I couldn't find any corrosion. Is it not visible? Only the trained eye can see corrosion? It is under warranty and they say they won't pay because their not sure what happened to the mother board. Any suggestions?

These have a noted design flaw for the CPU and GPU cooling system.. If it overheated and killed either you're looking at a new board period as theyre both Integrated and BGA mount on the PC board.(Big mistake)... Try clearing the VRAM and PMU to see if it trys to fire up prior however. If not? Look for a board and you'll find these can bring 500.00 used..

Good luck!

Sounds like a logic board problem. If it's still under warranty (12months from date of purchase) take it back to Apple. They're pretty good in situations like this

After I rebooted MacBook screen went black why

Your question is not very clear.
ReBoot restarts the Mac which shuts the power off momentarily.
So... Black screen = power off

If the laptop still works you were lucky. The screen will die eventually when you open the lid too far again.
Take it to Apple and get it fixed.

Black screen with sound

Sounds to me like a fuse on the motherboard for the screen has blown or the LVDS cable is loose. You need someone near you with MacBook repair experience, as a technician I will not advise you to disassemble the unit.

Apple macbook air won't turn on

Does the Apple logo or the Pinwheel show on the screen?

There is a problem with you OSX installation. Please boot from the Recovery partition (hold Cmd+R during the startup chime), and use Startup Disk to choose the correct hard drive to boot from.
You can also restore from a backup, and not lose your data here as well.

Twist the Macbook body while turning it on. If that make the image come back, you have a broken logic board. There are Mac Repair Guides that show how to open a Macbook. Watch out for the ribbon cables, those tear easily. Replacement parts are usually available on Ebay. There are third party services that can do it for you, like Mac Repair NYC.

I have a MAC book with a white screen

Try booting into target mode by holding down the T key during start up. If it starts up you can rule out a failed disc drive. If it doesn't start into target disc mode you likely have a failed hard drive. If it starts up into target mode you can try starting it into safe mode by holding down the shift key during start up. This will also run a series of disc repair routines and start up will take some time. Hope this helps.

Macbook pro start up problem

First remove the battery, then plug it into your AC adapter. Hold the power button for 5 seconds or until you either hear and beep or the activity light on the front of your laptop lights up. Start up normally.
