Hello,

This usually happens when the wireless card in the laptop has been turned off or disabled. If you locate the button on the laptop and it has been turned off, just move it to the on position.

If you are unable to locate the button, you can refer to http://www.rm.com/Support/TechnicalArticle.asp?cref=TEC242153 for some examples of what it looks like and where it may be on your laptop.

NOTE: Your exact model may not be listed, these are only examples. For an exact location you would need to refer to your manual for the laptop. Also, if you have to use a key combination to enable it, you will need to use the blue Function key (sometimes abbreviated Fn) on your keyboard in combination with the key referenced in the link to enable your wireless.

If that doest correct the issue, you will need to verified that the driver is enabled in windows. To do this, you can click Start > Run > type ncpa.cpl and press Enter. If you have Vista you can just click Start and type ncpa.cpl in the "Start Search" and press Enter. It will open Network Connections window. Look and see if your wireless connection say Enabled or Disabled. If disabled, right click the connection and choose Enable and that should correct your issue.

NOTE:
If you cant tell initially whether the connection is enabled or disabled you can right click the "Wireless Connection" and if it has Disable at the top of the menu, that means it's already enabled and vice versa.

Hello mull0566,
Having complete info available to me on model, operating system will help more - but IF this is a fairly new laptop....there may be a switch that you need to turn on to enable wireless.
If this does not answer your problem, post back with the make/model and operating system of your laptop and I will be more detailed.

Regards,
ChancesR

You should check if your printer has an internet connection, if it does you can just plug it in and use it as a network printer.

If it is not a router problem then you could try a wireless adaptor such as the Lapton N300 USB Adapter. This adapter will connect to all OS including Linux. $20 Max. I had a problem at home where a laptop would not connect at all and this adapter did the job. Maybe worth a try

My aspire laptop is not connecting to wifi. it is saying wireless network connection 6 is not connected. wireless network unavailable. although i am using wifi in my another lapton just next to it

Simple things first. Make sure you did not accidentally bump the wifi switch to the off position. It will be on the front or side somewhere, probably a small slide switch. Moving laptops around, it is easyto bump it.

Hi,
what is the wireless status in system tray? is it local or local and internet.
1. first check if it works fine with wire conection or not.
2.if it fine with cable then issue is with wireless. probably issue with Wireless security key.
3. go to available wireless networks and select the net work, if it is asking for wireless key please enter that. if you donot remember that perform router reset.that takes care of it.

My gateway lapton found a wireless connection to connect to, but once it is connected is not connecting to the internet

You can connect to a wireless router that isn't password secure, but if the router isn't configured to hand out ip addresses you can't get internet access. You need to know what address the router is on, and statically assign your laptop an address and gateway pointing to that router.

It's best to make friends with the neighbour and get the address.

I would suggest a usb wireless adapter. These are getting less expensive and not as confining as pcmcia network cards.
