Question about LG CU500 Cellular Phone
I bought a LG CU500 in the USA from ebay and it was advertised a being unlocked. It was an AT&T cingular phone. When I got here to Brasil I put in my chip from TIM. and the phone just said it disconnected immediately. It has a signal but simply doesnt function. No calling or recieving abilty. I also tried a chip from a different orovidor Claro and it still doesnt work. I took it to tech assistance and they said it needs a program in portuguese and they cant locate it. Do you have any advice on what I can do? Is there a firmware?
If this phone was made for usa region it will need software for your region as they may have flashed the phone befor sending it to you and only reinstalled the escential software for there region. You may not be able to get the software needed as this phone is an older model and lg themselves maynot be able to help you. Try emailing or calling your local lg phone representative and ask them if they can install the programs required but honestly it is probably cheaper to live and learn and just buy a phone from a local reputable dealer.
